Don't get me wrong, Nathan Eagleton was an okay player, he ran and could destroy teams with his pace and booming left boot. Until finals came and he suddenly couldn't kick it 30m, or couldn't get the ball and when he did he was like Tutt on a bad day with his sheer panic.

Maybe Gaff is better, maybe he isn't, but despite his faults Eagle was ok, just not in important finals. Personally I'd rather target Patton but then I'm a broken record on that.

Looks like he had 26 disposals in both his finals appearances in 2012. That's good going for a 20 year old.

CG respect a lot your work, but I assume you are aware that Gaff only started being tagged in 2013 and since then his game has dropped off. He certainly polarises Eagles' supporters

Still not sold - not for a first round pick for a bloke who is suspect in winning his own ball. Don't think he fits with our recruiting policy and I like our recruiting policy of targeting players that win own ball and contests (and yes we need pace and skill but surely contest winning, pace and skill aren't mutually exclusive?)

Fair point, you make a lot of sense. To be honest, I haven't seen much of Gaff and was just going off a few stats.

I know a few were talking about him either last year or start of this year and having just played them

any interest in Ben Sinclair? I haven't seen a hell of a lot, but know when I've seen him live he has been super fast

Not the best kick/decision maker is he? We need good ball use. Thats what makes good teams look quick. Not raw pace.

perhaps I'll come up with a list of players from other clubs that aren't getting many games
age and AFL games played and we can get talking on who we think we'll likely look at and just who generally interests us
I think if we're trading for a player from another club it will probably be a player with the age/games played as Sinclair
21-24 and at least 25+ games played

I'll give you four...

Tom Mitchell top of the list - but an inside mid - doubt he fits our needs.
Griffiths
Jon O'Rourke
Tomlinson

If Mitchell wanted to get back to Vic, I'd give an arm and a leg for him. Libba clone. Probably almost be willing to swap our first for Mitchell and their first. Will be an out and out star.

Yeah I would too...:) he is that good, but we would have to look at our list balance... Wallis' future surely would be tested...pretty pie in sky though

With respect, I'd disagree - I'm never gonna forget the 50m+ bomb he put through in the 09' prelim. Goal umpire called it touched, replay showed it touched behind line. That and the Riewoldt milking the kick on Lake killed us. God I hate St Kilda

Ben Griffiths? I'd personally would pass on O'Rourke and Tomlinson is an interesting one; I wonder what he is worth to GWS...

and yes I rate Mitchell to, but think Sydney would expect a pretty big offer to get a hold of him
