Personally I don't like the look of Cooney sitting at the table at the official Hawks GF dinner on Saturday night. I don't care what Hayley says.

BTW. Initial enquiries from camp Cooney are; There's been no interest from Roos, Hawks or any club in Cooney. Has no good currency whatsoever in the open market so he is staying put. Had his chance two years ago but stayed.

Grants all but gone next year at the end of his contract unless we can give him some solid AFL game time. He's good enough to, his pretty much the only creative player we have on our list.

Dissapointing if Tutt goes. I like what he offers. However he hasn't really made his spot in the team permanent so netting something in a trade may be a benefit. If he ends up staying, I hope he can somehow break into the team as a regular.

I could have sworn we recruited Hunter, Hrovat, Stringer, Macrae and Bontempelli recently - or was this just a dream.....

I think instead of saying what the club can offer the players, maybe we need to look at what the players can offer the club. If these blokes were good enough they'd be playing for us.

Not as their primary trait.
Maybe Hunter, but even his creativity was stamped out of his game this year, he had a poorer 2014 compared to 2013.
But the others are just brilliant players. They are creative, but that isn't their number 1 feature of their game like Grant.

This will give JMac the chance to fill plenty of spaces on the list. Why so angry about these players? Move on, bring others in and off we go.

This years draft apparently has more depth, so was a clever move 'strategically' to wait this year for the cull. Instead of heading to the draft hard last year like Lions and Saints. Loving the long-term planning of the club at the moment.

Might be a bit tongue in cheek, but Grant's primary trait appears to be avoiding the weights room..... :p

Tutt and Jones in reserves for most of the year. Logic dictates both told Macca they were going to leave at the end of the season.
Why would Macca play them when they were going to leave any way?

Because he played Gia when he knew he wasn't going to be around.

What's the point of that when half our list is leaving?
What's the point when it takes six years to develop a list of players that are "good characters"
Why should any player have the mindset of what they can offer the club. We're not a Collingwood.
Should we ignore any talented player that has that belief?

Lions lost more good players last year than we have - and drafted very well to replace them.... Not all doom and gloom at this point...

Well if he can't get a game after all the list changes then he knows it is over BUT he would want to get back to the form shown at the end of the 2013 season. Watched him in a number of VFL games - Werribee, Box Hill, finals and he tried hard but did not impact the games in a manner that would be expected after his combination moves with Campbell in the AFL.

Lose players, draft players repeat.

Never leave the bottom 4/5
Don't recruit free agents or out of contract players because nobody wants to come to a bottom 4/5 club that has players walking out in circles.
We were looking at players like O'Rourke. 3 months ago we were a good chance to trade for him and players like him. We're now a Buckley's chance of getting him or a similar player. Players don't want to go to clubs that players are walking out.

Think we need more players whose number 1 feature is to kick goals, screw creativity, I wouldn't care if we were Melbourne Demons (under Paul Roos) predictable as long as we kick more goals! FWIW Stringer is a genius!

Crameri, Darley and Stevens don't exist now ?

Half our list leaving? Please. Two blokes who are not in our best team (as much as I'd love them to be), and Shaun Higgins. Who I'm pretty sure most of the board wanted traded anyway, and I'm one of the few who like Shaun.

I think you're whole post here is crap, mate. We'll just pick up players who think they offer nothing to the club then, that'll work well. I wonder what Brian Lake thought he could offer Hawthorn? What James Frawley think he can offer Geelong? What Matt White thought he could offer Port? What a load of rubbish.
