I would hope we have made it abundantly clear we will let him end up in the draft.

You just have to accept that a KPF later in the draft has deficiencies and if you are OK with the poor aspects of his game, then you draft him.

He doesn't have to be perfect, plenty of premiership winning forwards that haven't been perfect. But must be willing to work hard.... Really hard....

Thing is, he's gone anyway. Anything less than a second round pick would almost be like sending him for free.

Maybe the Saints could on-trade Membrey for him?

Ok.....I have only seen snippets of him. If he is no good...then we have hang on to 5 and hope the dee's don't get 3.

I think Melbourne getting pick 3 gives us a better chance of trading up. They'd be more willing to deal if they've got 2and 3.
There just as much chance us missing on one of the kpf's at 5 as there is at 6.
I don't think we're a chance of saints no 1 pick.
I'm hoping Melb get 3. Better for us !!!

That is something I am unsure about him.... If he is a hard worker, he is a late first round talent.

Not a great result for Jones. They would still obviously have interest / a need for Liam but getting Jacksh for likely their 2nd round pick wouldn't help our cause.

Have to laugh at the Norf fan on the AFL website for today's trade period complaining about Greenwood walking out. Happy to take NDS, Higgins and Waite from other clubs - but Greenwood going the other way - 'it's an outrage....'

Carlton Get: Jones, Jaksch, WB Third Rounder (maybe through in Tutt)
GWS Get: Pick 25, 26
Dogs get: Pick 6

Then Dogs talk to Saints about 5 & 6 for Pick 1 or just stay put.

I like it, but Carlton are getting screwed there...... So it's not going to happen... I'd keep 5 and 6 too, rather than upgrading.....

That we still need ro develop Roberts and Talia I'd say either that or he is saying Merret is a dogs target in a roundabout sort of way.

A developed defender doesn't necessarily equate to a KPD.

- JJ and Jong realistically are another season or 2 off from having the tank to play a full game and will probably only play 10-12 games next year.
- Morris is on the decline due to age. No disrespect to Moz but if we want him to play on we shouldnt play him for 22 games next season
- Higgins, Young both gone and both played across the backlline
- Good teams with good depth don't play their players throughout the entire season. You maintain a strong list for finals by not having tired players.. Hawthorn are renowned for doing that.

Its all about list depth

The club has been extremely reluctant to throw young kids to the wolves. Hence Austin being played in front of talia and roberts. There's a massive emphasis on playing players when they're ready. Behaviour being more important than output so far. This club review may have said " well if you're going to hold them back get someone decent to hold the position!"

That's true. Now more than ever though forward lines are containing 2 or 3 198cm-200cm forwards.

I have never seen him beaten so comprehensively as when we played GC earlier this year. Had no answer to Dixon/Lynch/Day throughout that game.

We badly need a 195cm-200cm defender to help out Roughead.
