I do not get Mayne. Doesn't kick goals and doesn't play midfield. Apart from decent tackling pressure what does this guy offer.
His defensive pressure in the F50 is elite, it is a massive weakness of Collingwood.

Thing is, I actually think Honeychurch is elite in this area as well but he's not going to play ahead of Clay Smith in this role.

Mayne to Collingwood on 4 year deal (500 - 550k a season). That is absolute craziness. Has the world gone mad.
Goldsack is the exact same type and level of player on much much less. This is stupidity of the highest order.

Bucks getting desperate for results it seems. Next season is his last chance. They will probably add Mayne, Wells and Dal Santo next season which is ridiculous.

Well if we use your logic , then Dunkley is gone as well. Played one more game than Jong and polled only 8 more votes (25th).

Jong is an excellent squad player, who's stocks have risen every year (initially slated as a development player).
Its got nothing at all about where he finished this year, but what contribution he can make in the future and possibly where he ends up in B&F in the future.

Dude, Seriously, Dunkley is in year 1, Jong is in year 5. He is going.

So they are so desperate to get rid of Cloke who kicked about 20 goals this year in his worst season that they are giving him to us for free and replacing him with a 28 year old Mayne on more money and 3 additional years who averages about 20 goals every year........ok then, good luck Collingwood

its a great story but there's another story that he's on 350-400k.

maybe you're right and then maybe we are deliberately triggering a 2nd round pick for freo as part of another trade. so in effect buying a better pick. who knows.

aside from that I'd love to trade for Tom Campbell. cloke and a 2nd? TC looks surplus now.

as bucks as already said no to NDS that ain't happening.

if mayne plays in front of blair 99% of our board will celebrate. happy with wells but not with the 3 year part.

All the other collingwood deals you can sort of half-justify, but that one is legitimately ******ed. Averaged less than a goal a game for the past 3 seasons as a permanent half forward and has no discernible elite talents other than being mediocre across the board.

Just mind boggling.

Hearing strong rumours that Marcus Adams is not a well liked person and is wanting to go back home. He tends to have a go at the younger players and it became such an issue that Moz had to step in and say something. Rohan Smith not a fan either. Anybody else hearing this?

Read he bought a house just recently in the Western Suburbs.

Can you stop making up bullshit rumours about our players? Cheers.

I highly doubt a guy who has been given a chance as a mature age first year player would be a doosh to other first year players. The shoe just doesn't fit.

We have 2 ruckmen on our list now Minson has left. Fail to see how one of them is surplus to our requirements.

Making up your own rumors to try and troll us. Are you a Freo or WC fan?

Unequivocally false.

Quiet lad who is harder on himself than anyone. Loves the club and the city and has no immediate plans to leave.

you expect to play boyd, roughead, cloke and campbell in the same team? it will be too slow.

Campbell is a senior capable ruck. not many of those are happy to sit in the 2s for extended periods.

Trade Radio - Peter Ryan

Roughead|Boyd|Campbell essentially fighting for 2 spots

Campbell is certainly senior ruck capable. Best utilised as a ruck who plays good minutes forward.

he was killing witts in the nab cup game until injured (and then witts got on top). imo, I'd be chasing him before witts if I was GCS but don't tell them.

I also reckon he's better value forward than cloke!

Only way I see all 3 of Campbell/Roughead/Boyd in the same team is if we go small in defence and Boyd needs to do what he did in the grand final more often. Rucking has improved Boyds workrate and confidence though so I'm not sure if we move him into a permanent forward role.

I think Bev can get more out of Cloke though than what he has produced recently.
