So Minson, Stevens and Hrovat likely gone.
Cloke in
Jong 50/50
Only Prudden is out of contract with the senior list.
Feel he might be rookie listed since the club rates him so highly (moyd replacement type of player)

What about Hamling and Clay Smith? Have they recently re-signed?

Cheap and dodgy insurance. When does that not end well?
Even Markovic had a top 10 B&F finish for us when lake went down.
KPF depth is one area that will help us next year. I don't think Cloke will get anywhere near his best but if he plays at Redpath's level while Redders recovers it helps us.

Our draft picks blow this year, LOL.

18, 36 and three 4th rounders.
Our best finals performers this year include Picken (leading the Gary Ayres medal, rookie) our Norm Smith Medalist JJ (rookie), Morris (rookie), Matty Boyd (rookie), Dahlhaus (rookie), Hamling (DFA) with Fletch killing Tippett in the GF (PSD pick).

Not to mention 4th round picks like Dickson being our leading goal scorer, Cordy getting us going in the GF and kicking 2 in the prelim, Biggs being rock solid as a virtual freebie ( a former rookie) and Daniel being BOG in the first final (late 3rd rounder).

I'm not so worried about or draft picks this year with Dalrymple at the helm.

I've always thought Cloke was bobbins

But we need a tall with Big Red out and I literally could not give a shit about anything

Beveridge could draft in an inanimate object and I wouldn't care
True...and that inanimate object would soon be a Premiership winning inanimate object.

We also have a legitimate stud smooth mover in Bailey Williams just waiting for games who was a pick 48.

Dalrymple has a real habit of finding gold in the later rounds.

Big fan of Williams, see a lot of Bob Murphy in the way he moves. Webb is another one, will be worth the wait.

Enjoying the 'Cloke should sign while the Dogs are still drunk' fun and games, but we're still sorely lacking for tall depth.

To bring him in for a third rounder on half his current salary is just astonishing value, and I've no doubt Bevo shapes him into a very valuable contributor.

After so much talk of not being able to win flags with our current ruck/key position players etc, we've already got one and the list build ain't half done. Giddy up.

LOL not sure what to make of this. Is AFL now the WWE? Please tell us there is big money on us for the next three flags as well :p

Well, you know.. The bookies could have been consulting tarot readers, reading tea leaves, etc.. I should have put bigger money on it as well but you just never really know.

Damn my gut feeling. Thats the second time in my life Ive ignored it.

Never ignore your gut. If you do, you may end up shitting yourself hahaha

Jong-Pick 24 Gold Coast
Hrovat-Carlton Pick 23
Stevens Essendon pick 26

Leaves us with....
Picks

34

In a massive coup for the club make magic Dal :)

Williams and Webb both look primed to replace a few retirements in our backline over coming years: crazy we have these two kids in the twos. Both will be huge for us. Roarke and Lynch sound and look like likely types - we are well stocked once Moyd and Morris retire, if Moyd wants to retire on top it means we blood a new guy in 2017. Maybe bring in a free agent in the back six in the 2017 off season for the threepeat.
Cash in Hrovat, Honeychurch and Stevens. Keep Jong if we can. Bring in Cloke as a playing coach and a mature backup ruck, maybe Vardy or a delisted free agent or rookie list VFL type for insurance.
Not sure what else we need...?
I'd go a project ruck and a tall and a Dalrymple special in the draft.
The list is looking GREAT, when does this trade week thing kick off?

Really curious as to what both clubs decided they had done wrong?

I recall both Hawks and Geelong people saying they just partied and didn't care overly. And they screwed up their recruitment as a result. Have to check the drafting but I think the Cats drafting was shocking that year.
