I would be pissed if we gave 26 along with stringer for 11. We should be getting 11 at the bare minimum, if a trade can't get done hold on to him.

I reckon impey is worth a late second to early third and would like us to get him, crozier worth a third rounder at best.

Like the idea of the Trengove addition but am a bit concerned about our lack of forward line options. Impey and crozier would help this area but still think we may be weak up there.

What are everyones thoughts on how Smith nominating the Bombers effects Strings??

Does it bring Geelong back into the picture? Does it make it less likely we land pick 11??

If they're trying to land Saad, Smith and Stringer, they'll need to move pick 11 and their 2018 first in some capacity.

I think stringer is worth 11 at minimum, smith and saad both worth very late first to early seconds. Not sure how Essendon get it done.

Pick 11 for stringer
2018 first for smith and gws 2018 second
Second rounder and player for saad

That's the only way I can see it working

By all accounts I'd prefer next years first rather than 11 this year, even if the Bomber steamroll to top the table which they could do if it all goes to plan. Their forward line would be too dominant if they have the ability to roll all of Daniher, Stringer, Fantasia, Tippa, Smith, Saad, Stewart, Hooker etc through there..

#11 and next years 2nd rounder should be absolute minimum for Stringer IMO.

The only people who care about his off field behaviour are the tabloids. Recruiters and coaches just want to know that he's dedicated to prepare and play.

My only question would be whether or not his relationship with the Bulldogs playing group is as strained as what you hear, because if it isn't and Bevo starts him in the twos next year, then there's a way back.

As per Trade Radio, eyewitness accounts apparently Jackson Trengove at the Whitten Oval for photo shoot ahead of tomorrow's announcement.

Handy addition - adds some reliability to defensive talls and a capable back to a thin ruck options.
I'd be exploring possibilities with Brisbane around Stefan Martin - we need a bit more grunt from our big guys!

Tomlinson. All things equal, without question. When you add in the trade cost v free agent it gets a bit closer

Trengove. Doesn’t cost a trade asset. Tomlinson might end up being the better player but trengove just takes up cap space and not a huge amount.

I’m pleased he’s on board with us. I’m curious where he wants to play, and where the club envisages him playing.

Hoping he’s the guy that takes the McCartins, Patton’s, Hawkins etc.

Absolutely Trengove without a doubt. One is free (likely) and the other would cost substantial trade assets. Trengove can handle the monsters and the other handles players that we already can handle.
