Look if the club can make Darcy work down back for a couple of years to develop and then takeover Lobb's role, I'd be more happy about it.

I dont see Darcy and Lobb fitting in the same forward line for the next 2-3 years though.
Having a shit ruck forward isn't going to change anything.

You either play Darcy there... and he isn't ready... or we get Lobb.

Going some scraping the barrell option isn't a good thing

Someone on the Fremantle thread commented that Colin Young is the manager of both Rory Lobb and Griffin Logue and there's a feeling that if the club don't grant Lobb his wish even for unders then Young will agitate to get Logue to North through the pre-season draft rather than getting them something in a trade.

Just my opinion I think Darcy is more ready for the role than what many on this board will give him credit for. I have him way ahead of JUH in terms of development at the same stage of their career (granted they play different roles and 2nd ruck is a different beast), especially regarding consistency.

Scoop from Jake Niall " Freo intend to keep Lobb." What else are they going to say? "Oh, we know Lobb wants to leave and we don't intend to keep him."
Hilarious isn't it, I think we even said we'd be keeping Jake when he came out on trade radio in a denim tuxedo requesting a trade.

Just hoping we’ve done another Tom Boyd and been trying to word uo Harris Andrews all year or something.

Otherwise I don’t like the look of their draft hand for us…

Darcy is stick-thin, still growing and had stress fractures for most of the year.
The plan was to protect him but when he kept knocking the door down, the plan changed to ease him in as a Key back.
However, Bevo was trying to win games so he threw Darcy forward (in my opinion against the plan).
I still think we need to protect Darcy. If he plays substantial minutes next year as our preferred forward / second ruck next year, we may do what Collingwood did to Fraser and ruin him in the long term.

Gut feeling for me is - Darcy goes back to CHB.

Jones - Gardiner - Darcy - Backs

Unless we get someone else really good in.

Naughton - Marra - Lobb - forwards.
Lobb can be a real headache in the air. And another pre season for Marra.
It’s an exciting forward line if Weightman learns how to crumb instead of flying.

Amazing that just prior to Bruce's ACL, contemplating life without both Bruce and Keath in the team would have my jaw to the floor.

Clint Eastwood moves better than Alex Keath and he’s 92.

Bruce is just an unknown now sadly.
He was terrible this year, but I’m still holding out hope maybe with a full preseason and Jones taking some slack off him & allowing him to play his natural game we might get his best for another year or two. Would make a huge difference to get his best at CHB as an intercepting presence next year.

Jones full back & Buku/Darcy 3rd tall depending on match ups or if we need the extra height and Gardner first back up.

We can hope I guess

Exactly why I don't think we should bother with Lobb.

I’m still hoping we’re chasing one more big fish that’s a key back.

Yeah me too just really struggling to see where it’s coming from, I just don’t understand if we’ve got no interest in Logue and I’ve even been vocally calling him overrated on here for some time - he would be a good fit for us. Surely we’ve sounded him out and either are interested & it hasn’t hit media or not interested due to the contract he’s getting or Freos asking price.

Even if it’s not a key defender I’d really just like another quality defender of any size, tall medium or small.

I'm with the others that want Brodie Grundy.

If English drops the bottom lip, then so be it. Trade him to West Coast and get Barrass. This bloke cannot hold us over a barrel and force us to play him as the number one ruck any longer. His lack of presence and competitiveness in the ruck has cost us numerous finals. Will it ever get any better? I'm thinking not.

Grundy and Barrass for English and Dunkley improves our side drastically for the next 3-5 years.

My main problems with Lobb is that he'll be 30 by the time round 1 2023 rolls around, and he's not some A grader who is going to take us from position 8 to top 4.

Anyone read Occas coaches corner on Bulldogs forum page on Facebook. It’s done by Paul O’Connor and other past players and there most recent one is bang on. Summarises our year , recruiting, selection, gameplan etc. We’ll worth the read. Past players are frustrated and have had enough as have most on here.
What a read! Basically what most of us have been saying for yonks.

I’ve asked it so many times: Why is this stuff so obvious to everyone outside the “four walls?”
