It's not ideal, but it's not horrendous either. We can package something to move further up the draft if we need, otherwise we have our own, Brisbane's and the GWS F2 next year for 3 picks in the top 25.

I question both Gold Coast and Geelong's list management, for different reasons, given a side which has never so much as made the top 8 is having to offload a player and high draft pick to the recent premier for a salary dump. It's completely backwards.

The Cats just won the flag yet have cap space to take Bowes on who I’d suggest in any in their best 22 presently. They then may swap their 1st pick for pick 7 and end up having a selection before us.

The Geelong line for years is that they all take a bit of unders to be part of a strong club. How Bowes walking in on $800k per year fits in to that narrative, I have no idea. Surely those taking unders can't cop that.

Seems to be advantaged to the big clubs doesn’t it. They can just get a player to forgo the bigger contract and then just take the pick that comes with it. Surely Gold Coast aren’t so stupid to give pick 7 as well.
