Brisbane said no players will be involved though?

So what? They want him or not? Trading is about compromise. They want something we've got.

You sell a car or a house. The seller wants this, the buyer is prepared to give this. You meet in the middle. That'a how mature adults do things.

Not what I'm hearing.

I'm hearing there's a second club working behind the scenes outside of QLD in dialogue with Liam Pickering. Not sure how that will transpire with Dunkley saying he wants to move to QLD, but it's a potential watch this space.

Hopefully it's GWS

Has this been confirmed? Wasn't there talk it was actually Collingwood's F2 that got traded, meaning they still hold GWS' and their own F2's?
The AFL app had it as Collingwood's, but that was the only place that said Collingwood's in the end. GWS definitely traded theirs to Brisbane.

However the AFL trade tracker page and Brisbane and the Suns' announcements all say GWS's second rounder was traded to the Suns, while the AFL's Twitter account and draft order page all say Brisbane's second rounder was traded to the Suns. So there's definitely some confusion as to which we hold right now.

lol @ people thinking Dunkley doesn't end up at Brisbane.

I'd put my house on it.

Whichever way this goes, I really doubt any of it is a surprise to the people involved. Dunkley would have told the club it was Brisbane ages ago. Everyone knew they need points.

Dunkley would be unwise to go the 1 year deal also - could do an ACL and lose a chunk of value. His manager surely wouldn’t advise it. He’d be better going PSD and setting the terms, and he’ll get that money from somewhere, if only Brisbane is willing to fork out that much he slides to them anyway. But that is pretty unlikely too.

I just think this has all been known for a while and I’d be surprised if there wasn’t something advanced in the works. This is probably been made more dramatic than it actually is.

Also possible im giving Brisbane too much credit but I’d be surprised if they offered a huge deal without something planned to make it happen even with their father sons.
Both spot on.

The melting about what Power is or isn't doing while in complete ignorance of what Power is or isn't doing is not surprising, given the situation. Still a lot of wasted energy and angst though.

But he would be well aware of where Brisbane are working towards, as would Pickering.

Dunkley would not have nominated a club and then confirmation published about the length/probable worth this time if all parties were not aware of it.

And all parties knew a long time before it was announced. If it falls over, Dunkley and Pickering and Brisbane would all look stupid.

Dunkley ends up at Brisbane

Lions will do Gunston deal then will try work up the draft order to get a 1st round pick

The higher that pick is the more we may assist them with points should they require it.

The second part will be a future pick to us also.

Dunks deal will get done

Why on earth would we need to give them something back to help them with points, when this likely scenario would be two near-end of first round picks?

The higher the Pic the more likely we may be to assist them with points.

If it is end of first round no help if it is a single digit we may assist

Lacks a genuine position for mine. His flashes are amazing but I don't see him playing full time mid ever while he doesn't have the strength to be a full time forward either. Genuine tweener which is great for flexibility.
X factor is a need 😀

Trade will still get done.

Option 1:
Any club can ask AFL to be allowed to trade another future asset. BUT they need to have a compelling reason to do so….

Enter the Lions.
After trading out nearly all useful current assets, they can’t trade back any further, as list spots become a problem. At this point, Dunkley trade goes to mediation…. both clubs then agree that the current assets are insufficient to make a deal. The Lions apply and are granted access to more future assets.

Trade completed with multiple future assets included.

Option 2:
Lions agree to add a player as part of the trade. The assets gained from that trade are then added to the current available assets and trade completed.

I went to Totty Tech just behind Skinner reserve in the 60s and we often had lunch at that fish & chip shop fantastic memories lol.

Just to have a change of topic could you give some prices you recall of min chips, dim sims , potato cakes?

How come Essendon didn’t eventuate then?

Today. The club needs to decide today not let this drift into next week. Brisbane either get their ** together and get serious or they ** off and stop wasting everyone's time.
You do realise there is constant dialogue between Power, his Brisbane equivalent and Pickering, right?

You're stressing about a timeline and scenarios thrown around on here. Power and the others are working to achieve a common goal - a trade that is relatively fair to both sides given the circumstances. And with their own timeline. If Power had major issues with what Brisbane are doing, he would make a statement. The fact he's barely said anything, as he usually does, means the deal will get done. As deals he is involved in usually do.

Don't stress. Sure ponder the options, but remember, Sam Power is in control. :)

Cooney on Trade Radio said he loved the romanticism of the father son rule and said his son (Jaxon) is in our academy. Said the following kids are there - West, Darcy, Leon Cameron's kid, Matty Robbins's kid .. Lake's kid (same age as Jaxon) hasn't been around though

Potato cakes 2 cents, Dim sims 6 cents, min chips 5 cents

How come Essendon didn’t eventuate then?
Likely because Dunkley/Pickering did spring a late surprise in that one, and Dodoro thought he could screw Power, but Power stared him down. The fact this time Dunkley has admitted speaking to Fagan, and the club doesn't appear overly surprised, and hasn't been as forceful about public statements, apart from Bevo's "pony up" comment, gives a calm acceptance vibe, and will work to get the best possible return.

So Bris now announcing Mathieson open to a trade but would like to keep him. Stating that no clubs have spoken directly.
Assume that equates to “Dogs don’t want him and we need to trade him for a pick”.

No hope him getting a game with Dunks, Ashcroft and lesser extent Fletcher coming in

Brisbane are doing what any club would do in this situation. Im sire we've done crap things like this before. I seem to remember Adelaide not being happy with the Keath trade etc

I dunno, his value would have probably been a second rounder and they got our 2020 second round pick and pick 45. Same as Bruce, the Saints would have wanted an earlier second round pick but got 32 and 51.That was pretty much where we valued them and there was minimal bullshit.
