Would rather Brandon Crossley
Word is he's enjoying VFL life a bit too much - would take a bit of work to get him into AFL shape even if he wanted it.
Shame, otherwise I think we should consider him.
There's always Conor Ballendon and there's a WAFL ruck who looks ok too (name escapes me)

And he’s doing great work

Crossely looks like he struggles getting between contests at vfl level.

Meanwhile, the Bulldogs are looking at delisted Melbourne speedster Oskar Baker as a potential rookie pick-up, with clubs continuing to scour the market for mature-age options.

Baker was cut by the Demons at the end of this season after five years and 15 games with the club.

The Dogs have interest in Baker among a group of possible experienced options who could be in contention for a rookie spot later this month.

Baker, 24, is a quick wingman who was a key part of the Casey Demons' VFL premiership this season.
Sounds like at least one of our rookie picks this year will be a mature option

He hasn't been on an AFL list for 2 seasons, and hasn't played an AFL game since 2018. Absolutely nothing like Lewis Young.
He kicked 83 goals in the vfl over those 2 seasons, Guess we will have to wait and see mate. I personally think he’s got all the tools to make a good afl player. Like Lewis young..

I feel like this could be another Lewis young situation and Fergus doing well for the hawks
Definitely will.Beveredge has his strengths. Recruiting and talent scouting not being one.Better player Fergus than a few players he seems to favour.
Hope we really get better with selection next year. And Fergus does well at the Hawks.

Yeah but every clubs had two years to list him and no one has so it’s not really comparable to Young IMO.

I hope/think he will go okay without being great, always liked him as a talent

I'm not saying he definitely won't succeed. More that it wasn't a case of a young player leaving us for better opportunities (as Lewis Young was) and immediately doing well, rather we delisted him and he spent 2 years at VFL level without anyone else wanting him on their list.

Hamish Free from SF in the WAFL, might be mature ruck you are thinking about.

What are the knocks on him? Don’t know anything about him.
He was reported to have pace and always willing to put his head over the ball but they say he had zero polish for an outside player and he was compared to “dogsh1t” ( I presume not in a good way)
Not as much specific criticism on the thread as I expected.

Can't say I can remember seeing him play but the stats read poorly (to put it kindly).

Had an ok 2019, playing 9 games as a 20yo, but in the 3 years since had played 6 games in total, averaging 9 possessions, 2 contested. 0 games last year

That is not a career trajectory that instills excitement.

He is quick and hard.

Can’t hit a leading target or a stationary target by foot. Kicks float rather than travel. Doesn’t slow down to deliver the ball. Handballs are not accurate either.

For a outside, he is surprisingly good at hardball gets. That isn’t suppose to be your best football attribute when you play outside.

He won’t be on our team. No need to discuss further.

Rather him than Naismith for obvious reasons

Sounds like a young Dangerfield. It was his biggest knock on him at the beginning of his career.
