Draft a couple of mids & I guess we’ll have to take another hit on Croft, then trade hard for established defensive talent. Even if it means a next years first included
My new target: Jacob Weitering. Can’t be happy there.
Might be a few Carlton Players that are unhappy there
They all look ****ed. Their list is not that bad. The club is just in a bottomless pit.

I've had no time for Michael Voss since he made a very smart a**e comment about Robert Murphy some years ago. So his lamentable career as a coach is quite enjoyable.

He was doing 'special comments' during a game and one of the other commentators referred to Murph as a champion. Voss immediately piped in with..."you should be a bit more careful with who you are calling a champion." I mean, even if you thought it, why would you say it in that forum? If that's indicative of his level of tact and social awareness, I'm not surprised that his coaching career has bombed. Not sure if anyone else remembers this, but I never forget a slight on a Bulldogs player...let alone a legend like Murph.
Okay that is a pretty stupid comment. May not be in the top 20 players of all time, I actually think he was a bit of an underachiever…but he played 300 games. There’s LESS THAN 100 PLAYERS in HISTORY that have reached 300 games. Multiple time All-Australian and leader during a time of crisis at the club.
It wasn’t a Kade Simpson style 300 games either, Bob actually played in good teams.

So with Smith we basically could gone to the nearest aths club grabbed a sprinter and rookied him...
How depressing.
Can’t really count anything before the 90s. We weren’t even competitive (or allowed to be) until then.

Interesting point. Yeh, we may be forced to take this path given with Croft, a late first rounder may be useless to us.
I also don't place much in draft points, as it's much more nuanced than that, but fwiw, our current pick 11 and 15 is the equivalent of pick 2 in points.

After another strong performance from Croft at the Champs, he is likely going to come into 1st round calculations. Given that is the case need to use the 2 late firsts to trade up inside the top 10 to get a quality mid.
Then use points to match Croft, so still effectively getting 2x 1st's into the club. The added bonus of adding a top 5-10 rated mid. Making the most of the situation that Dunkley put us in.

If pick 1 + Barrass are on the table, the least we could do is listen. Knowing them campaigners they will want to keep both and package up a few crappy picks & players with getting him to demand a trade out though
The only way the deal would be palatable for me would work gws into the deal and all involved would still probably decline.

GWS out: 2x firsts, O'hallaran

If Pick 1 was on the table, plus a little extra, I’d be all in giving Naughts up.
Reid’s an out and out gun that not only could walk in to our midfield now and probably dominate, but would be a player we build our midfield around for the next 10-15 years.

I think that's optimistic. More likely they split their pick with GWS, then try offer us one of those picks (say Pick 4) plus a sweetener. It wouldn't be worth whatever they're willing to offer tbh
I agree. That is the only hyperthetical I could think of that would make me consider it though.

We’ve got Marra, Darcy currently on the list. Croft who’s another potential fwd threat coming in. Losing Naughts for Reid is a no brainer IMO.
Saying that, I can’t see WC giving up Reid for Naughts.

Me neither, but going on Smileys info it may be on offer.
Beyond Reid, there doesn’t seem like there’s anyone worth losing a player like. Naughts for. Or moving up in the draft order for that matter.
