Looks like they've changed the rule without making it public. It was spoken about a week or two ago as a possibility, where clubs only had to hold a 2nd and 3rd if they didn't have a first.

Oh this made more sense because I was thinking of the 2 first rounds in 4 year thing.

It's good to come to the end of the trade period on a good note. Absolute steal of a trade if Coffield can get his body right, paid basically nothing.

Yep.

I'm guessing Sweet gets done for a pick upgrade. Pick 41 for Sweet and 56 for example.
Port have can't trade out a F3 at this stage.

Billings is not an upgrade on Roarke. He genuinely sucks. As in one of the great busts in AFL history. Roarke isn’t talented but he tries, he runs and he tackles. Jack doesn’t do any of that.

I’m good on Coffield. Early on I questioned his decision making. But he’s not a squib, he has good size and he can kick the footy. He’s not a difference maker, but he’s a good get.

I see people talking about mids as a need. I don’t agree. We are flush with talent. Flush. We have a thousand talented talls. We have an amazing midfield. We miss a defensively minded midfielder but hopefully that will be addressed, perhaps with Harmes. No more Caleb in the middle please. It doesn’t work. What I do think is we need to let people specialise in a position - perhaps 2. But we’ve tried the “they have to be able to play everywhere” mantra and I think we’ve ended up with players being just ok at lots of things.

I’m disappointed with the ass coach appointment - as I’m underwhelmed. Not sure what others think.

But with the talent we have and the rod that will no doubt have been shoved up the rears of some players going at half pace this year, I’m hopeful of a resurgence next year. If not, as much as I’m a fan, Luke will have to make way. But I have enormous faith in this group.
