The Jamarra situation is insane. It’s like the Bailey Smith drama on steroids. Or coke.

There’s nothing I’d love more than for him to pull it together and get back into the side for a string of games so clubs will come to the party.

Something tells me we’ll be parting ways for not very much. A friend of mine is close with a fairly recent ex-player - his view is its long past the point of no return. Depressing.
It’s like an evolution. Stringer, Smith, now the final form Jamarah.

Pay him out. Remove him now. Be done with it.
I have been one of his biggest backers and supporters, knowing infomation I can't publicly speak about and I've always had his back but this is now one step too far.

I am so ****ing sick of the circus of bullshit by the primadonna's that the club has drafted in the last few years, Sniff and now JUH.

He has been given the biggest golden oppitunity in this country, to be an incredibly highly paid sports star and all he has to do is attend training, give 100%,play, and not be a fukwit off-field, but instead he wants to throw it all away for LITERALLY NOTHING. It is a circus that envlopes our club and stops us from attracting other talent. It is a distraction to the playing group.

I for one, am sick of it. We had to go through the media bulslhit of Dunkley, then Smith, and now this, there is only so much the fans can take.

I would 100% remove hom from the progam, pay him out, and be done with this circus so we can focus on the rest of the year. If he doesn't want to be apart of the club then he can kick rocks.

And no one feed me this ''He is first nations, complex issues, small boy, big smoke'' - If you know, you know, it has nothing at all to do with any of that.

Was the length of Jamarra's 2 year extension last year a choice by the club or the player? i.e. did we have concerns and put a shorter length contract in front of him than usual for a player of his talent?

Either way it seems pretty fortunate right now that we don't have him on the books for the next 4-5.

It was player and club, as the new CBA was coming into effect

So chance for longer years + money based on his projections

Marra’s manager might be the most overpaid person in Australian sport.

Wth is he doing?
What's he doing?

He's Holding a winning lottery ticket.

Even if JUH career flames out with us. How knows for certain that somebody else will roll the dice on fixing whatever the **** is going on with him. Teams will line up around the block in the hopes of tapping into his tantalising but unfulfilled potential. Of course these same teams will run down his trade value in the weeks leading up to any potential trade and offer us a few marginal draft beans in return.

The whole situation is shaping up as Jake Stringer Redux is so many ways. He seems the perfect analogue. A guy who has hit 30, his 3rd club and despite occasional glimpses of his rare talent hasn't gone anywhere doing the amount of work required to fulfil it.

Yet clubs are still willing take him on and his management still take their cut. That is until they've squeezed the lemon dry and then they get to place it into the rubbish bin of history and never think of it again.

Kids. Get into sports management. It's the easiest game in town.

Putting pesky ethics and morality aside. I honestly wish I had.

Think I share a similar view now. Hard to know without knowing all the details, but on the surface it’s pretty disrespectful. All the noise from the media about him leaving doesn’t happen if his manager shuts it down, which hasn’t happened in this instance.

End of last season I was pretty disappointed with the team throwing away that final after the good body of work in the second half of the season.

But now I kinda don’t blame them, they would’ve had this massive distraction hovering over their heads, not to mention he actually played in the final (and was worst on ground).

And played his guts out in his final year with us. Neither Smith nor JUH will have played in their final year with us.

I have zero knowledge of JUHs situation but I cannot think of a single reason why he would not be at the MCG on Friday night given we know he did not have a knee reconstruction that afternoon. It’s not that he has issues being out in public especially at night. He is taking the p155.
Yeah, they keep trotting out the “it’s a complex, non-linear situation” line in the press but it’s becoming a farce.

If it were, say, mental health related then I would understand him sitting it out if he were at home, in a facility or camping solo in the wilderness.

The fact he’s been spotted out drinking, going to other sporting events and stopping by a bottle shop for a recovery session makes a mockery of it.

If a player isn't showing up for training etc then aren't they breaking the contract? Seems like it only works one way...
I’m hopeful part of the contract is incentive based (ie some match payments, milestones for goals kicked) so we aren’t paying it all.

In the case of someone with a serious welfare issue I guess you don’t want them coming back too soon because they need the money, but while he’s on a Guiness world record pub crawl he should not be getting back $800-900k.

Agree and disagree,

Never play him again for us but there will be noise regardless if he is with us or not like there is with Macrae/Smith/Dunkley

Keep him on the list for 2 years to do nothing see how he goes at 24-25 after not playing for 2 years

At the end of the day we have a player on 800k+ a season who is fit (not injured), who can’t even sit in the stands to watch his team mates play, meanwhile we are losing games by a goal with an injury stacked list. Has no problem attending anything else that’s not western bulldogs related though.

This will reach boiling point if this trend continues.

The only saving grace in this debacle is that we have the option of retaining him. If he at least seems to have his act together by season’s end, someone might be willing to offer something of some value.

If they don’t, he’ll either have to sit out a second year and face the possibility of the scrap heap or playing for minimum chips in ‘27 to save his career, or shape up a bit.

This whole thing sucks.

If JUH had of attended last weeks game, I wonder how much shit, attention he would have got
In reality he’s basically in exile but I imagine he cops some grief at the other events he goes to as well.

The reality is that the smart thing for him to do is keep a very low profile until he’s got himself together.

That's a good point, and I can understand him not attending. However, it was utterly inappropriate to go to the pub and publicise that you've done so.

Marra either is hopelessly out of touch with what the Bulldogs club and its supporters would have expected him to do, or he doesn't care. Either way, he damaged his reputation/brand and trust, possibly beyond repair.

His agent needs to intervene big time, or he is also culpable.

Right now I highly doubt even the clubs who are use to dealing with players like JUH would be willing to take him onboard.
I am almost certain he will have zero suiters, and if he does it'll be clubs offering him minimum contracts under incredibly strict condictions.
