Midfield (Bont, Richards, Freijah, Sanders plus whoever we draft) and forward line (Naughton, Darcy, Weightman) are okay for the next 4-5 years. Defence is a worry as we could realistically lose Jones, JJ, and Duryea this year and Lobb soon after (plus Gardner, Cleary, and Coffield as depth).
Lobb, Buss, and JOD still looks pretty good. And Buss and JOD very young.

Croft too - best position still unknown.

It sucks but we are unusually well placed to lose Marra.

Cooney and West coming too.

We'll be OK. We like a fight

I dare say all the latest beat up is down to him stupidly posting on socials and the media finally getting their fill after sitting on the story for so long.
Quite funny that people on here are always complaining about the media beating up negative stories about our players and then everyone takes the bait on this one.

The guy has clearly gone off the rails to the point that he's missed an entire pre-season, is struggling to show up regularly for training sessions and has seemingly been internally suspended from playing AFL games until he shows up consistently. Him not attending our little 100 year commemorative event is completely inconsequential in comparison. It would have been far more surprising if he was there on Friday than if he wasn't.

And posting a couple of photos at the pub in the meantime.. sure maybe not the wisest thing to do but really who cares.

Gen Z is addicted to social media, grown up on it, the addiction is the same as gambling and drinking.
Social media platforms are designed to be engaging and rewarding, often triggering the release of dopamine.
I don't know if it that easy.

What I can't understand is how some people choose to use social media, given an almost limitless choice of what they could be posting. I mean, we have an ex-player who, amidst all of the trade speculation last year, posted a selfie of himself with half a mongrel and later chose to announce his trade request literally one hour before our B&F. That points less to addiction issues and more to being just a bit of a dick. No pun intended.

Croft has been earmarked to play a high half forward role, to utilise his marking together with his running ability.

He said as much when interviewed after the game on Saturday night.

Isn’t it more likely that JUH just gives up the game? If can’t see how he can just orchestrate a trade when he likely won’t have trained/played for a year.
Also, surely the club at some point must have grounds to sack him. I can’t believe he’s not in breach of his contract.
Clubs have very little power. The only thing a player sitting out a year will effect is what the club will receive for him in a potential trade.

It seems far worse than not watching his mates play.
It was an anniversary event. There would have been multiple past players, who never go anymore, but would have made the effort to go to this game.I imagine there would have been a few who flew in from interstate.
This looks really bad.
The dogs have been nothing but supportive to JUH, even Cooney turned up, and he was dirty at the dogs for ages.
Really really bad look.

AFL is a party to all player contracts and May not agree to cancel the contract based on optics.

How must Dom Brew feel? He has busted his ar$e diligently for 10 years in the lower leagues trying to get a crack. All he can manage is a train on pre-season with no contract to show for it and there is a player at the club purely taking the pi$$.
Not a great comparison. Brew isn’t worthy of polishing JUH’s boots talent wise, but I take your point nonetheless.

Oh yeah the inst@w***er is a total d!ck there's no doubt about that.😅😅
Below is a small list of negative impacts of social media, and line some of them up to the recent behaviours of JUH.

Have a watch of social dilemma the doco, big eye opener.

Not just a selfie, a whole video, during the Brownlow.

Instagram has a “only show to close friends” function. JUH is choosing for his stories to go out to the public.

Did anyone see Dougie at the big celebration the other night? He and Brad Hardie and Mick Malthouse all not there? They should’ve been there with the Pieman and Choco and Ricky Kennedy.
But no Dougie just shows how much these so-called professional footballers aren’t very professional when things didn’t go their way. Or are there other reasons?

He was apparently in Adelaide at a family function.

Is Cooney coming? I read somewhere (I can't remember where) that he wasn't THAT good. Obviously I hope this is wrong

He had surgery during his underage last year and missed almost the entire season
Similar to Levi West

Both are projected to be 30-50 at this stage (season hasn't started)
