In one post Katy is running in stilettos to mark a footy, she captioned the post: “Coming for your jobs @sydneyswans

@brisbanelions 🦁🦢🤸🏻‍♀️🫦 👠”.

Bailey Smith popped up in the comment section responding to the video writing “Mummy”.

Is he not all there? 🤦
So are we just gonna post everything he does on social media here? It’s becoming really weird. Some strong Mark David Chapman vibes from the people in this thread.

Maybe he’ll get some Instant Karma.

We need to invest in a good forwards coach, once we get that our forward leading patterns will improve and they will stop trying to out mark each other. Then hopefully our midfield change the way they dispose of it inside 50.🤦‍♂️
Been screaming this for several years, frustrates the heck out of me.

Firstly, coach Weightman to crumb and stop flying for highly improbable pack marks. Fine if he's one on one, jump on Gawn's head again all you like.

The reason he signed a 2 year deal is because he and his management believe he will be worth considerably more at the end of it than he is now.

Which is why it makes no ****ing sense for he to already have a deal done after it 😂
Combined with the fact that maybe he simply wants more flexibility in his own destiny heading forward.

Petracca and Pickett both want out of Melbourne but now understand that they can't have it both ways and the long-term security goes both ways - they both have long term guaranteed money in cases of form or injury drop offs. However, Melbourne are entitled to retain good players that still gives them a remote chance of a winning more games and therefore a flag next year and the year after, keeping good players on the park, even with such an off-field disaster brewing.

Jamarra simply may not want to tie himself to a club if things don't work out at the club (e.g we miss consecutive finals in the next 2 years) as opposed to any desire to leave or whatever.

I am going to make what I think are some realistic assumptions.
Retain Garcia (hopefully) on a 2 year deal, JJ for 1 year and Keath retires.
Trade Macrae and Daniel to St Kilda and North for 45 and 40 respectively.
Trade Smith to Geelong for 15 and 35.
Leaves us with 15, 33, 35, 40 and 45, with those earlier picks sliding back a few places.

Rumour is that we are keen on O'Halloran, Peatling, Houston - I really like all 3, but can't see us having the draft capital or the big club hoo hah to get Houston, so putting a line through him.

Could we get Peatling for 33 and 45 and O'Halloran for 35 ?

Leaves us O'Halloran, Peatling, 15 and 40 and a couple of later picks.

Feels about right to me, but not sure if I am undervaluing the 2 x GWS boys and that is minimum I would take for Smith.

I don't know if they teach you this at school or not, but there's a difference between a player requesting a trade and one that hasn't.
But there's nothing stopping JUH requesting a trade while under his current contract if he gets a better offer somewhere else, contracts mean nothing if a player wants to go somewhere

Plastics are refusing to let O'Halloran go

For now anyway
Of course they are, it’s early posturing for a contracted player.

I really don’t see the need to go after contracted players that are not definitively going to make our best 22 better.

O'Halloran is an upgrade on McNeil, VDM and maybe a couple of others. Worth getting on the list if the price is right.

And if people want to talk about signing depth players, then O'Halloran is a much better choice than some delisted free agent spud.

So the comparison to Macrae is appropriate because a player could request a trade whilst in contract? Geez, why stop at Jamarra then?

It was a stupid comparison. Acknowledge it and let's move on.

I like what I see with O’Halloran.
Right age and very good skills .The type of player that as you say is a big upgrade.

O’Halloran looks decent from what I’ve seen of him, but he’s had 20 disposals once in 67 games and gone at a clanger every 4 disposals the last two years. I’m not sure he’s much of an upgrade on what we have. He’s probably a better fit than Macrae or Daniel, though.

Remember clangers aren't just tied to disposals, all free kicks against are counted clangers as are 50 metre penalties as well as dropped marks and no pressure errors. 19 of his 52 clangers this year were from frees against.

24yrs old when hes out of contract end of 26. Salary caps going up, his manager isnt stupid.
Some players tie growth in the cap into their contracts. I think it’s really about being at the absolute peak of his powers when the next one comes around to draw a godfather offer. Right now he’s a bit of an unfulfilled talent.

If he plays out of his skin the next two years that’s fine by me. If he continues at around 40 goals a year and fluctuating intensity then he might be pretty disappointed when the two years is up.

Connors is on record saying he encourages his players to do 6 years before considering a move as you are giving the club that drafts you half of your career.

him signing for two more years takes him to six years total.

Baz is leaving us after only signing a two year deal, taking him to 6 years with us.
Yeah, the development and inconsistent part of your career

Let me be clear I would love to see Marra sign a Naughton length like contract however with Darcy a high probability of being one of the highest paid players in the comp how do we secure Marra long term while others submit massive offers in the near future ? I will just sit back and enjoy watching him play over the next two seasons and hopes he loves the Dogs so much that he decides to reject massive contracts with others and stays with us .
I’d love it if he became a long term champion of the club too, but I think the relatively recent trend of 8 and 9 year deals on massive money is going to bite a lot of clubs. Melbourne would love to take back Oliver and the Andrew one at GC is insane.

In this environment and with Tassie coming most clubs will probably lose a player here and there to a massive offer. If and when it happens to us we should just make sure we’re properly compensated.

I think the clubs who keep their cap management in control will be the big beneficiaries.
