Why do people want Greenwood gone, he was very good before his injury!!

Footskills. I think he struggles to hit his foot sometimes when disposing of the ball let alone his teammates chest. I would prefer we keep him because he's a good team man and a fantastic trainer, but for us to rise up the ladder guys like him, Blair and Goldsack need to be on the fringes or gone.

For instance I think we should be all in on Bailey Dale who is set to explode and would be a perfect replacement for Wells, but if we bring him in and Greenwood remains in the best 22 it limits the opportunities for others like Kirby and Daicos. JDG, if he stays, will be a full time mid next year so where does he even fit in?

If Fas requests a trade fine by me think we have some decent small forwards coming through now, trade him for a pick in the early 20's hopefully.

Love to offload Greenwood but can't see anyone being interested.
Geelong will want to pick him up because it will guarantee them no one will tag Selwood when we play them.

Freo can give us Balic and a pick. Or Fyfe.

I like that one. There's a couple of really likely U21 types going around ATM that don't have profiles such as Balic, Fiorini, Dale and one that's a bit more off broadway in Redman. The fly in the ointment is that WC will lose Le Cras, IMO, so if Fas does leave they seem the better fit.

Then I wouldn't mind Darling for Fasolo and a pick exchange.

The defensive jobs Greenwood does are important to team balance. I think with Crisp finding a home in defense a spot opens up in the midfield for a run with player. It's an important match up. If we need to go more offensive through the middle he'd rest forward on a dangerous half back. I think he's important for our midfield mix.

On Bailey Dale, gee I wish we'd gotten him for Cloke. I think we were after him. But if the Doggies want Cox something good needs to come back our way.

Goldsack till the fastest runner in our team IMO, not many of our boys can close down like him.

Agree about greenwood and Blair, we need to cut dead wood to improve. Prefer greenwood on the list because he does go hard and show a bit of mongrel at times and doesn't get bumped off it like Aish and Broomhead.

Pretty sure Dale signed for 2 more years at the kennel so will have to look elsewhere.

Negated by his shocking ball use. I'd say that upgrading our ball movement clearly outweighs any negative impact on the defensive side especially with the cohesion building in that defensive group.

A midfield group containing Pendles, Treloar, Adams, JDG, Wells, Phillips and Sidebottom with Crisp and Maynard on the edges can't afford another shoddy kicker getting healthy minutes. Then you add someone like Dale, Fiorini or Balic into the mix and it's robbing Peter to pay Paul too much, IMO.

The only offer they made on Cloke was the one we accepted. I would have held him to his contract because they weren't interested in dealing in good faith, but clubs appear less and less inclined to do that these days.

Cloke has proven this year that his trade value was spot on. Accepting that trade has contributed to the dogs slide down the ladder.

I would have liked to keep Cloke for a year too but 1 he needed to want to stay and 2 the cap pressure and list place from that would have cost us the chance to recruit somebody else and 3 it would only have increased our problems at this years list management period

Goldsack played a fantastic season of stop gap footy by his standards as an undersized KPD, but if we're improving in 2018 it isn't on the back of him as a lock in our defensive group, IMO.

FWIW I think there's room in our forward group for him to do a job on a rebound HB (JJ, Sicily, Laird, Wilson, Hurn etc.) as he did Saturday, but if it means we need to leave say Kirby or Daicos out for him to play that role he plays two's footy, IMO. Like Greenwood he's a keeper, but no longer a best 22 certainty.

He's played 10 more games than pick 76 ever will considering we never used it so that's incorrect. We got nutted on the deal, but what's done is done.

We got overs.

We were keen on Dale. I think he just resigned with them though.
