If we need to trade Mummy for no 1 , do it as we will always pick up another ruckman, as we always do.
Who would you take with the number 1 pick?
What the F is Kennedy's name doing in this thread. The club is in the middle of a Premiership window, even just the thought of trading out one of the sides elite players for a speculative draft pick is crazy.
The man has finished 3rd, 2nd and 1st (in a Premiership year) in the B&F's at his time in the club. If anyone thinks he can be easily replaced or even covered for, they are absolutely kidding themselves. If the club wants to win another flag in this window, Kennedy will be a crucial player in achieving that...not some 18 year old who might start coming good when the window slams shut.
Not to mention he just signed a 4 year deal, showing great loyalty and commitment to the club and turning his back on the idea of returning to Melbourne. If the club turned around and stabbed the guy who led the charge to the 2012 flag in the back, most swans fans and players would be mortified.
Yes, I'm still aware this is all hypothetical but the thought of losing arguably the best player of the last 3 years should not even be brought up in a hypothetical sense, unless the conversation is what's the best way to tear the heart out of the club. Not to mention, the club would never even entertain the idea themselves, making discussing it completely void.

Couldn't have said it better.
I can't stand how some of our supporters dismiss our champion players so flippantly like they just grow on trees. First the Mumford trade talk, I read a number of comments about our ruck depth being fine because we have Pyke, Tippett and White. Pyke might only have 3-4 years left, we don't know but we can't build our future ruck depth around him. Tippett was recruited to support Reid and under no circumstances should he be our back-up ruckman. As for White, if he's our ruck support after Mumford then we'd be monstered by any club with a decent pair of big men.
I can't even type a reply long enough to say how ridiculous the idea of trading JPK is. There are a few around here who need to stop acting like spoilt brats and as though any player we bring in will just easily replace one of our reliable, first picked champions. It's one thing to be confident and proud of the way this club is run and the recent success, but we didn't get into that position by thinking we're invincible and dropping the ball in regards to the players we bring in.
Whoever fills our need at the time, i'm not going to name anyone as we don't know, so why speculateWho would you take with the number 1 pick?
Tom Boyd or Dom Sheed, personally.
However, don't know why we need pick 1 - we're getting a top 20 prospect in Perris anyway
Relax there is no way we or any team who considers themselves a chance in the next few years would trade a player like Kennedy even for the first pick. The only exception may be Carlton who seem desperate for tom Boyd type of player who i believe have already said Kreuzer and Gibbs are going nowhere. With those players unavailable I just cannot see what or who they have left to offer being of enough interest to GWS. Yarran round 1 pick and fringe player wont cut it and Essendon who have players who may be of interest (Pears and Bellchambers) who wouldnt be nearly enough by themselves are well stocked for key position players.
If GWS recruit Franklin they will be very tempted to trade their first pick (if they get pick 1) but it will still need to be worth more to them than the player they would recruit with this pick. In all likelyhood if they do trade this selection it will be to a bottom five team who offer their first pick plus a little extra in return. Brisbane, Gold Coast, Western Bulldogs and St Kilda will all be interested and IMO are the most likely destination if traded.

Perris is ours, he is a scholarship player, he walks straight onto our list with our last pick in the draft.
