I would prefer to get Stringer for the right price. If it isn't there, it isn't there. I don't think Dodo should feel the need to do anything in regards to Stringer.

Considering that Carlton will likely use their 2018 second to get Kennedy, there's no way they'll get a better deal from them. I'm pretty sure they don't have a second, nor will they entertain trading pick 3.

We can offer up a better deal I reckon. Perhaps a 3rd plus a second?

I think Saad addresses a need more, which will allow us to release McGrath into the midfield.

No reason we can't do a deal for both players though.
We have 4 second rounders and a future first at our disposal.

Gold Coast are really kidding themselves if they think they'll get a first rounder from anyone.

Exactly! Carlton are baulking at even using a future second for Kennedy so very much doubt they will want to use more for smith. And agree they have nothing better than what we have anyways

We know what we're getting with Smith. Stringer has been out of form for a while now which I'm sure is a factor in us not giving up pick 11 for Stringer.
Higher floor - Smith, Higher ceiling - Stringer.

In terms of ceiling, probably Stringer. In terms of baggage they come with, Smith.

In terms of dealing with a club acting in good faith or a club behaving like a petulant child, I'll go with the good faith option (GWS) every time. It appears EFC do as well.

Personal opinion, Stringer is probably the more exciting player but Smith is the safer bet.

The deal we got for Smith (two secound rounders and a decent player) is too hard to ignore.

Once we get Saad im pretty happy to pack up for this trade period and be done. Two best 22 inclusions with a strong hand in next years "super draft"

If we land Stringer ill be ecstatic, but if we got the other 2, those were the players im most excited for.
