Who is upset/happy here? Rip it to shreds or massage it to be fairer.
Upset, i reckon Dodo can do much better than that. Id be happy with

OUT Joe, Orazio, 31
IN 5 (Kemp), Wines, Howard

Sam Ried is the worst forward in the history of the game. Joke of an offer that wouldn't be considered for a second. '

Maybe GWS can give us our first round pick back and Finlayson. Pretty sure those two teams are in the same city, as that's the reason he wants to move it will be no problem sending him there instead.
I'd be very happy with that. I don't want him, not for the alleged asking price anyway.

How did Strachan do this year in the SANFL? He gonna be the #2 next year?

Well, he got a 1 year rookie contract extension

and from all reports, did pretty well this season. Since we cut Hunter, and Jacobs is gone, he will be our #2 ruck next year, unless we bring in someone else

It'd be a developing ruck if anything, yeah?

Sounds just like something Trade Radio would say. Not sure it's enough

...would be happy with 25 in the real world, but hey who knows

25 for a guy you don’t want? Very unlikely

Oh yeah, we're looking at getting Billy Frampton from Port as a back-up, so *really* he's going to be third but right now with our list he's 2nd.

Hey, earlier in the thread i was offered 5 & 25

In all fairness, he's a pretty good key forward,
the only real downside is age maybe
... stacks up favourably against some others who get a lot more press for less results, to wit:

Yeah I’ve seen that comparison before. Unfortunately for Joe it counts for the whole 2016 season where we played a seconds team all year and start of 2018 when he clearly should not have been on the ground.

Also Jenkins has played with Walker and Lynch. Joe’s had less support and has always been the key focus of defences.

Jenkins value takes a big blow because everyone knows Crows want him out. Not much leverage there.

I hope we sign him if Joe leaves.

Hypothetical of course;

Sydney out: Pick 5, Pick 25
Sydney In: Joe Daniher, 2020 second rounder

Essendon out: Joe Daniher, 2020 second rounder
Essendon in: Pick 12, Pick 18

GWS out: Pick 12, Pick 18
GWS in: Pick 5, Pick 25

Obviously rates Joe at roughly pick 3 or two mid - high first round picks but some people don't want Essendon to recieve this. Gives GWS the points/picks to match academy prospect Tom Greene bid early whilst Sydney get there man and are able to keep the likely pick 9 they recieve from the Tom Papley deal. The 2020 second rounder is the sweetener that gives Sydney points for the two high end academy kids they have coming through next year.

I dunno, was just playing around with the picks etc after Pure_Ownage suggested the Giants would want an early pick for a likely Green bid. Perhaps pick 9 instead of pick 12 coming to us but it was something to think about and a very real possibility.

Swans won’t trade future picks

That would be the worst outcome of all time.

Dont see any benefit for us in this scenario? We get roughly pick 10 next year in compo anyway.

How's he only played 40 more games than Joe when he's 5 years older and Joe's been out for two years?

Maybe, if we got pick 9 instead of 12 then it could be a very reasonable offer imho. Could throw in a sweetener somewhere to get it over the line too.

We get 5 & 9 with a second rounder going the other way.

9 & 18 with second going other way is equivalent to 9 & mid late 20s. May as well keep him another year.

I've started to take the heart out of seeing the trade for what it is and the hypothetical's become clearer.

No heart in it, just realistic for a guy who’s potentially one of the best tall forwards in the league.
