I’m guessing it’s more to do with promising the trade will go through without too many issues. The fact that Sydney’s starting point was so low, is concerning in itself in their value of him.

Also, from the comment from Matty, is it possible that Harley organised this directly with Daniher without getting the club itself involved until the trade request was already under way?

Plus if Sydney have actually burned Daniher here and haven’t followed through on their promise (still a few days to go) - why would he want to sign with them next year?

WCE won that trade easily and are paying unders for Tim (~$800K) because he just wants to be there.

I assume Sydney are offering Joe far more $$ than Kelly’s contract, but they are wanting to pay less in picks....
