Constable worries me, could be a case of Prismalls. Looks great in a good team. Sam Simpson is another from them whose torn it up but looks like the type of bloke that would struggle to get ten touches playing for us.

I'd take the risk with Brodie. Top talent hasn't clicked yet but has had a few class performances without support.

I mean apart from that famous quote he hardly did us dirty. Kept an open mind about going to Hawthorne so that St. Kilda had to pay full price. He still played with a lot of the playing group (Langford, Daniher*, Merrett, Gleeson, Zaka, Raz*, Laverde*, Hurley, Heppell, Hooker, Ambrose, Walla**) and he fills a need for a few years as that 6'6" key defender that can actually move.

*Pending whether they stay or go
**Might have played a few games in the VFL with him? Probably not
Why are St Kilda prepared to offload him?

Agreed
Same with joey. Has jerked us around too long and honestly im over his attitude.

Saad im cool with. Nothing wrong with a free agent exploring options but applying themselves 100% in the process.
Absolutely, has busted his arse for 3 years and rightly so has other clubs sniffing around. He'd be silly not to be thinking about the future. His combination of skill, durability and character is something we cant afford to lose.

Constable is an accumulator. He doesn't do much damage with his touches and can't play forward or back.
He could still grow but not sure he will leave. GAJ probably retiring and other options will open up for him there even if Higgins goes there.

Does anyone have any detail on what is going on with Brodie and why he isn’t getting a game for the suns (aside from falling behind Rowell, Miller etc)? A top ten pick in a draft that is absolutely stacked. Seems to have been injury free. And I think was close mates with McGrath...
perhaps it’s his endurance? Or possession efficiency? Thanks.

Brodie and Wright for a 2021 second round pick?both players have high ceilings but significant flaws. Brodie’s ability to spread is questionable while wright‘s competitiveness is a major flaw. This sort of a trade could be feast or famine.

The posts I’ve seen on the topic have been about his defensive running.

His ability to play inside and win the ball isn’t a question, it’s the two-way running required with current game plans that leave questions on him.

Plus for all the holes on the GCS list, inside mids and KPF’s aren’t one of them. So Wright and Brodie aren’t getting a game behind talented young guys like Rowell and King.

Not a hope in hell they do that. Don't even reckon they would take 1st round pick for both

There's zero chance they don't take that. The pair played 1 out of a possible combined 34 games this year dude.

Seriously??

Yes, absolutely. The last thing we need is more 'ball magnets' who have sub par disposal who can't get close to being defensively accountable.

How many ball magnets do we currently have?

Enough. Adding another player who can get it 20 times with the inability to run defensively does nothing for us. It muddies the waters of what we're trying to do which is having a 22 man team rolling defence. Brodie does nothing for us.

Merrett
Shiel
McGrath

All 3 are top 25 in the comp for average disposals. All would have been top 20 if McGrath didn’t get his injury early in the game.

Personally see them as 'finishers' rather than 'magnets'. Much prefer a Constable or Brodie feeding it out to them, rather than them winning a hard ball. (Which I dont think they do well anyway)..

No it's not.. the previous 20 games prior to the last 10 as I said.. sorry for derailing Daniher thread, thought this was our Trade discussion thread..
I know. The previous 20 being the 13 games in 2018 where he averaged 16.2 disposals (7.9 contested), 3 tackles and 3.5 clearances along with rounds 17-23 of 2017 where he had:

23 (7), 2, 3
19 (12), 3, 7
17 (10), 6, 4
13 (5), 2, 3
17 (6), 0, 3
13 (6), 2, 2
16 (9), 4, 3

So therefore, factually incorrect.

Sorry, my miscalculations, you're right..carry on.. still not bad stats playing mainly hff when he is an inside mid..
