Wouldn't be putting Fantasia up this year, we've got enough people to go.

Nor do I really want Houli. If we want him as a coach, wait until his playing career is over and make him the best offer. I don't think seniority or leadership is a problem, I think our young guys are pretty level-headed and determined. We need some steel at the contest.

Somebody like Mitch Robinson who lets the opposition know there's a game and contest to be had and sets the example. I reckon his leadership at Brisbane has been more important than somebody like Hodge/Birchall.

Not sure there is any player in the AFL that puts their body on the line more than Robinson. His highlight reel is crazy.

Must be hugely inspirational to the young players.

I don’t think any of us are in any position to quantify what leadership any player brings to the table. We aren’t privy to the goings on behind closed doors. We might have an idea of what a good leader looks like but we can’t really say with any degree of certainty that any player possesses those qualities and to what level.

I could say that Hurley has lots of leadership qualities and someone could disagree. No one really knows. There are some things that happen on field that we see but it’s not everything.

The proof of the pudding is in the eating.

wait on merrett unless a Hail Mary offer was made like hawks offering 2 first round picks which would not happen.

mid he leaves next year under free agency you’d have to think he’d be band 1 compo in a stronger draft (supposedly) being a regular top B&F contender.

id also keep Fantasia now unless an offer too good to refuse cane up, it won’t though.

If he is definitely going to go RFA next year might as well trade him this year for mire.

I don't mind Houli especially if we lose Saad and he comes at a cheap price to pay. However if not then I don't want to see anymore players prone to soft tissue injuries on the list.

We don't need a full rebuild and in my opinion no club really does unless they've been up with flag contention for 5 years ie hawks.

The key is to keeping JoeyD if we lose him than no point bringing in 30yr Olds. I think losing Joe sets us back 2 years until Harry J is up and about or someone else is brought in like J.Cameron.

If we retain the list we have than the only missing piece is a big bodied mid. I think I did say at the end of last year one maybe wasn't essential but alot of that worked around a fully fit Heppell and Stringer and now I've seen how soft we actually are on the middle.

I'd absolutely get in Will Brodie. Or consider a Cooper Stephens, Constable and still ask about LDU although I think his price has gone to high now.

I continue to ask myself why can't Heppell be a big bodied mid? Wasn't that exactly what he was drafted for? Maybe his exclusion was in fact a big reason for our slump. He's 189cm the same height as JPK but 11kgs lighter. Surely at 27/28 he was meant to be that big bodied mid for the now. The issue is now foot issues and putting 5-7kgs on top of that.

I'd love to see a 90kg Heppell inside. Just gaining territory on his left from congestion or feeding out handballs to better users like McGrath and Zerrett.

A fully fit Stringer aligned with a fully fit Daniher and Laverde also crucial.

Players can't just add that weight. It comes naturally or it comes with a stack of injury problems. JPK has basically been the same size since day 1. It's pretty rare that a guy becomes a meat axe out of nowhere.

Even Fyfe struggled with injury for a 2 year period.

Port and crows will offer 29/30 we will want atleast 20 otherwise he stays would be my guess

No doubt but It can be done fairly comfortably especially under elite training procedures. It would be dangerous with his foot now. I'm not sure where that's at?

All the kids add considerable weight coming into the AFL system. Kennedy no exception. I remember watching Heppell year one on Anzac Day and I'm pretty sure his quads were bigger there than are now

Let's just say I wouldn't be eating celery in my salads if I was him.

Like Heppell is a seriously shredded physique it's great for an outside player or inside/outside but I feel he has to become a big body mid or Stringer and someone else brought into the club has to.

Well Stringer has had the most pudding so i guess he has leadershipship qualities
