Hypothetically if we have pick 6,7 and 8 (regardless of what we have to give back to Carlton to get it) I would like us to really look to us 2 of those picks to trade up for Mcdonald, he fits our need. It would still allow us to use one of the other first rounder plus next years to go after Dunkley.

I'd also like us to use a late pick on Wright who shouldn't cost much and is still young so is worth the gamble I think as a CHF and back up ruck

I would rather take two players inside the top 10 and maybe trade one. Just my opinion.

I'm in the same boat. If we can manage a Key forward and 2 inside mids during this period we have won out .

I'd rather we sign Roy Jones Jnr at the age of 51, and give him enough years to be able to kick one single drop punt than have Jimmy Webster on the list.

Walla Agree. Cahill Who Knows. Mozzie ACL. Yes we do. An injury to AMT and we have nothing.

I guess we'd have Cahill :p

But really, we need utilise Smith in that role.

God bless Simon White. He was basically a NPC who had the face of a create your own player from FIFA.

I will say though White did play some solid football at times.

Out softcocks
In campaigners

about time
At this point I can handle losing games if we aren’t easy to play against. I remember Bags in his better years was one of my favourites because he would run in spots that would put himself and opponents at risk of physical pain - everyone would be hurting. We need competitive guys who can run, who aren’t afraid to stick a tackle and have competent skills - meat and spud types as someone else here referred to. Agreed big time with others on the need for fast tackling forwards and preferably more than one to give us the right dynamic so the ball doesn’t come flying out of our 50 with regularity.

He's honestly my hero. To manage to stay on a list for 8 years despite possessing zero AFL qualities and being extremely injury prone is an amazing achievement

Fun & sad fact; before this year White had polled double the amount of brownlow votes than McGrath had.

Alright that's enough internet for today.

Completely fair. I would be in the same boat except I feel that Mcdonald could be an absolute star and we need another young key forward to try and build around
But you’re effectively paying two top ten picks for an unproven player who hasn’t played a game! How many current players would you pay two top tens?

We need to use 2 x 1sts over the next 2 years mimimum to meet AFL rules. Cant see us having the currency to trade up to 2, pay for Caldwell and Dunkley and then still having 2 x 1sts to use.

I agree, trading up would only be an option if Dunkley fell through.

If Dunkley falls through, our needs move towards midfield instead of the forward line.

It's very hard to see a scenario that includes both McDonald and Dunkley.

Oh right sorry I thought we only needed to use one. Disregard then

If we want Dunkley, we will have to overpay.

Clubs are not afraid of keeping contracted players who have asked out these days.

WB will not trade Dunkley unless we make an extremely compelling offer.

Simply offering a top 10 pick and another late pick is not going to be enough. Odds would suggest that pick will not net a player as good as Dunkley so there is no reason for the WB to do that.

Dodo will have to offer overs to make it happen, which prob means it is not going to happen.
