David Myers from the Dons reported in the media to be unhappy with his new contract, looking for better offers.

Utilised mostly as a tall running defender but also played as a tall midfield role for the Bombers (similar role to Goddard, and possibly why he wants out with Goddard rumoured to be coming in).

Drafted Rd1 #6, 2007.
191cm/88kg
23yo, 45 games

Myers 2012 - 9 senior games
Highlights:
28 disps (16 kicks 12 hballs) and 5 marks in Rd 13 24-pt win over Fremantle at Patersons Stadium (23/6/12)
25 disps (14 kicks 11 hballs), 4 marks and a goal in Rd 16 50-pt win over Port Adelaide at AAMI Stadium (14/7/12)

One of the Bombers many soft tissue injuries during 2012 under "The Weapon".

Essendon FC profile: A broken wrist ruled Myers out for five weeks when he finally looked to be settling into his AFL career. A hamstring injury in the second half of the season also interrupted his progress, but the Bombers are happy with his development. Big enough to hold down a key defensive post and has the athleticism to play through the midfield.

5 years in the system and can't really force his way into the 22 each week, pass. Have seen his games, even when he was drafted and doesn't really seem that special.

Haha.

Maysie has taken on some of the eye from the interstaters. Good to see!

Given that he grew up as a Carlton supporter, did his AIS training with us, and I was told by our recruiter at the time (Wayne Hughes) that we would have selected him if he was available to us with our first pick.

Needless to say, we like the boy!

If it's anything like last year, we'll dedicate to 2 of the zone selections and trade the others away. Last year it was Sexton and Allen.

This year I would imagine it is Boston and Cameron we will pick up. I'd be surprised if we don't take them.
Fair enough. Wasn't sure how much list space you would have to accomodate them and thought you may use them to upgrade the picks you have. ie 44 becomes 31 and then ontrade that. Guess it could depend what you get for Caddy. If you get Geelong's compo pick you don't have to use it this year but if it's say North Melbourne's pick 14 then you will have to. Either way I'm interested to see how you use those zone selections with the list squeeze on.

Few trade rumour sites tonight saying Hickey is certain to be traded to the Saints for a 2nd rd pick. Deal done apparently.

I see AFL guru Patty Keane says we still have 2 x yet-to-be activated end of Rd1 compo picks that can be on-traded this year if wanted.

GWS have a mid rd1 and end rd1 and Eagles have a rd3.

SUNS-Tippett,

Also for a hard inside mid Richard Douglas from the crows could be an option, a trade could be:
CROWS-Monfries

Monfries is a free agent, Port most likely. If Dons land Goddard and Maloney, highly unlikely they have anything left to secure Caddy. Media talk is Caddy to Geelong #1, Roos/Blues chasing hard. My tip is Saints for a late charge with 1st rd pick + Goddard compo pick or similar trying to wrap deal in with Hickey.
