SA’s Sid Draper was underwhelming this morning against a pretty surprisingly slick WA team.
He loves the give and get handball which can release him into space but he manoeuvres his way out of contests so quickly that his teammates at this level are just not there with him. His skills are undeniably quality and he looks to have a strong demeanor onfield. I would think at AFL level his game will translate much better than what we are seeing at under 18 level. He will need to work on his balance and distance at stoppages as he being caught either too close or too far on the outside a lot. Missed the first half of the season due to injury aswell, so plenty of scope to improve.
Personally seeing him still as a comfortably top 6-7 pick.

I think more needs to be spoken about SA ruckman Alex Dodson who had 20 disposals, 22 hitouts and 5 clearances this morning. He is on the younger side of 18 and has a really nice blend of athleticism and coordination for a 200cm+ kid.
He is apparently chosing between basketball and football.
He moves very well for a young ruckman at this stage and would be a really nice prospect to have as a replacement for Nank coming in through.

Bo Allen played his first game for WA and showed he is a combative big bodied midfielder but can get very dangerous on the outside aswell. Has a nice looking left foot on him. Was playing predominantly against Draper at stoppages and was probably an even contest between the 2.

Some other players who really stood out were WA two key forwards Max Rohr and Kayle Gerryn who both looked very strong. Kicking 7 between them and both taking ruck contests at times.

Lucas Camporeale was good for SA. His a gut running accumulator but goes forward with every possession. His kicking is a little untidy for mine. But his running power will be a solid weapon for the blues in the future. If you remember the repeat efforts and gut running his dad use to provide then you’ll be able to understand Lucas’ game pretty quickly.

Phoenix Hargrave was also very impressive again for SA but another one who is a little scrappy around the edges.

Carlton and Brisbane are the teams it’ll hurt most this season with their FS selections. And the Cats from memory have multiple FS coming through.
Obviously not ideal for us with those later picks having no currency, but won’t hurt us from a FS or NGA perspective. Pretty sure we have nothing to be excited about.
There goes our plans of getting an xtra 1st rnd pick.

No way I'd trade Baker if he wants to stay.

Future captain. Can play anywhere. Tries his heart out every week.

Bolton I'm getting pretty tired of. Has the most value on our list.

If we could turn Short Graham and a Bolton into 2 first rounders, 2 second rounders, and a player, I'd do it.

It’s fair that anyone who gets nominated in r1 must cost a r1 , I don’t care who it his , how’s blooze form bleating about it , they want the twins and walker for nothing the cnts
F/S's they shouldn't touch.NGA's a different matter.

Baker looking positive to stay.

Big watch now on Bolton. Fremantle offer could be multiple first round picks. Two or three. 🤔
Glad Bakes is staying.
Bolton TBH not fussed.lol

Geez we turn on people

Reckon the spoon is on Now. North look crazy good today and seem to be hitting some form

Watching Dow compared to Ldu and Wardlaw today just shows we need the top end midfield talent badly in the draft. So hard to find that type of player where we’ve been picking for 10+ years

Taranto a former pick 2 helps but geez our midfield yesterday were absolutely pantsed

Hopefully we can use our stack of picks and load up with talent!

Another strong performance from Urquhart who was the heartbeat of the WA midfield as they upset the hot favourite SA. He was the largest stoppage influence on the ground, his size and explosive movement difficult to deal with. He was able to find space and use his long penetrating kick to pump the ball inside 50 11 times for the match.

Kid played well and is hard at it but his disposal lacks thought.
