It's happening. They're going to screw us no lube.

Apparently we were "warned" and "on notice" that the AwFuL were making the changes this year which is just an out and out lie. The changes weren't mooted until AFTER last year's draft when Clubs got mightily pissed off that junk picks were being used to claim Academy guns.

By that time, clubs (including us with NINE stockpiled picks) had already locked in their strategies for this year's draft and can't change them now.

Unbelievable, yet so believable from this shoddy, amateur, weak and rank organisation.

Here we go..

What I wanted to post about. If the AFL do this then they are beyond incompetent. It is obvious that clubs had no idea this was coming in for 2024. It'll screw us over royally.

Such a shoddy bunch and dodgy amateurs. And I can't see why they would want to do it.

Hope the clubs gang together and go in hard to ensure this year is as planned. And then a new set of dodgy, easily manipulated rules come in.

We might have played a beautiful hand, and then see if get ripped away by the CFL. :madv1:

Very interesting to see what North do if they end up with pick 1. Do they use it or do they split. With no clear KP player In the top 3 do they split and try and get 2 top 10 picks and try and get say a Whitlock and Trainor?

At this stage I would be keen for us to go chips in for a top 3 pick and a top 10 pick to try and get one of O’Sullivan, Smith or Smile and then Jack Whitlock.

Seems like a draft that there should be some quality left on the board from 25-40

Nahhh I don't want to be told when to relax...I'll relax when I'm good and ready to relax...thank you very much! ;)
Have a lie down and relax mate

Playing predominantly forward, Gerreyn showed how dangerous he can be as a threat in the air and on the ground. At 199cm he's still capable of swooping on loose balls to create scoring opportunities for himself or his teammates with lovely skills by hand or on either foot.

Holy sh*t man this kids movement is kinda insane for his size and build

A lot to like about his physical attributes. This is the first I've heard of him.

Have you got any knocks on him noobermensch ?

Again as with other WA kids its a lack of exposure to high level play at this stage. He's played a solid amount of WAFL Colts but that comp isn't the highest level. He's played predominant ruck with short rests in the forward line. We've all wanted to see him played as a main key forward and at a higher level which we're getting to see now.

You can make up your own mind about his weaknesses. I'd like to see him clunk some more big contested marks perhaps... but it feels a bit nitpicky as his marking isnt bad at all.

I'll link the WAFL Colts games of his that I've done. One is from last season:

The one where he kicks it into his teammates back is gold 😂😂😂

As far as potential goes I have him as the drafts biggest sleeper currently. His movements up forward were very smart and strong. Actually quite an impressive kick on both sides of his body for a tall. Uses his strength very well and has the frame to become a bit of a beast.

Had a great presence on the game and also really competed well against Dodson in the ruck when he went in.
A huge lump of a lad but his movement isn’t slow. Has a mean streak about him aswel which is a huge plus for a key position player.

Very interested to see how he develops as the rest of this carnival and season goes on as he looks every bit of surprise bolter.

Needs to play seniors later in the year. Will go first round if he does OK there

Sid was quieter this week disposal wise along with a number of his SA teammates as they took a surprise beating from WA. The positive is that he appears to be elevating parts of his game each week as he regains full match fitness following a long injury layoff. After an improvement last week his stoppage work was better again here, and he showed more intent to chase and apply defensive pressure around the contest. He seems to be setting himself up for a strong finish to the season.
