I love Simon Black! Would teach our youngsters heaps both on and off the field.
Modest, hardworking and would help Jobe out for 2 years!

Re: Simon Black to Essendon

Yet another new thread created on the back of a Twitter post. The joke's over, guys.

I'm merging this in to the 'trade week' thread, and I feel that itself is a pretty generous course of action.

Too slow brah.

Re: Simon Black to Essendon

An hour to go. Looking like an anti climax. Unless some last minute deal is being worked out. Hope the fax machine is working.

Well its all over. Houli goes through to the draft and no big fish. I am just gald that we werent throwing away picks like a few clubs seemed to do with the GC and their 'listed' players.

Seems to be alot of Pre-listed VFL/WAFL type players getting thrown around. I bet many of these players eventuate to nothing. Gold Coast being very smrt in loadin up draft picks for questionable talent.

The Gold Coast has screwed the system greatly and will be very dangerous very soon.

The sky is falling!!!

The gold coast will live or die by their drafting. In 5 years, they won't have a salary cap concession, their big names will be retiring, and they'll be feeling the squeeze that comes with having so many first rounders. It's gunna be a trading bloodbath for them, and take a while for their team to get the kind of age-equilibrium that it takes to have a proper crack at the flag.

Ha, yeah overdramatic a bit from me. But they are in a position to use many first round draft picks that develop to get younger 1st round draft picks (as long as they play well) to get that age equilibrium.

Will be interesting to see how the team develops.

maybe- depends on how big a barrel they get put over as players threaten to walk out to the ND/PSD. :)

Either way though- you're completely right- should be interesting!
