Love this guy a fair and very honest competitor. A few Port supporters came on here when we got him and said he still had it but was cruelled by injury but thought he was going to come good with a bit of luck and change of scenery. The running power was evident from the beginning (noticed it against the Swans) On the first page an opposition supporter said he was smashing school athletic comps - we got an athlete and a footballer here BrunoV

I’m surprised by what an honest footballer he is. Just does his thing with discipline and intensity. Defensively accountable. Good finisher.

Hard to fathom how someone like him can get given away as a bit of an afterthought.

Wingers are so critical to what sides do with and without the footy and how they set up the ground and a lot of the really good ones currently going around were given away for basically stuff all.

Port didn't know what they had with the shininess of Georgiades, Rozee, Butters, JHF etc

little did they know, he was probably more important than all due to the lack of quality in that position hey have

what's the saying? one persons trash is another persons treasure

Let’s not get carried away old
boy…..Even allowing for structural importance, not sure he’d sit ahead of any of Rozee, Butters and JHF :)

I take ur point though. He’s an important player for us. We look more solid when he plays.

Maybe not best but if you take out Butters, Rozzee can stand up, if you take them out, JHF can stand up. You take out a good wingmen and unless you have someone to step in, you lose a lot. We should know

they have no one who’s able to play the role that duursma plays as well as he does

What do Duursma, Martin and Durham all have in common? They all run a 6minute 2km and are versatile.

Honestly it’s taken us way way way too long to value this kind of player.
they are all competent as overhead marks as well

Recruits like this help make up for the butchery of so many first rounders. Antithetical to the typical Dodoro pick - elite runner and athlete, good height, takes a mark, kicks goals he should, and not a see ball go after ball player. Starting to fly into packs again for marks hopefully is taught to protect himself, ie when to go and not to go.
