I think they will find there are few options and we will be stuck with them till the end of their contracts.
I think Connors will def get picked. Can't see McGuane getting much interest.

Because in the simplistic world of the passionate Tiger supporter (which we all are), a player is either a gun, a young kid who shows promise, or a favourite player (for some reason or another).
If a player doesn't fit into any of those three categories he is, by definition, a dud who should be banished at the first opportunity!
So i'd say Connors and McGuane are not favourites of many posters at the moment.
Personally I thought Connors was good last year. In the same boat as Morton really. McGuane is not as bad as some think, but the gap between his best and his worst is fairly large. A bit like bloody Paul Bulluss actually! In any case it would be foolish to get rid of him unless we get a replacement. Key defenders don't grow on trees!
Yes but he fails to subscribe to the values of our club. He's unprepared, doesn't work hard enough, is a moron off the field and has completely the wrong attitude to be a successful football player. Why a man with his talent is not playing every week is a fair reflection of all of these things.
Draft a rookie who is a mobile ruckman, major project behind those two boys..
Tom Downie
Club: North Ballarat Rebels
Age: 18
Height: 205 cm
Weight: 95 kg
"Represented Australia in the World Under-17 Basketball Championships in Germany 2010 before playing football for St Patricks College Ballarat this year, then joining the Rebels at the end of the season for two matches, averaging 13 disposals, showing outstanding natural talent.
thoughts?
I'd like to keep connors for one more season.
Yeah if we get a Ivan Maric and have Gus and Derickx still there that gives someone a chance to have a few years to really develop.. As i have been told on here before the team is still 4 or 5 years from really pushing the best teams and being a realistic chance, so that gives time to try someone for a few years. There's no point using our top picks this year on a ruckman and then spend 4 years developing them, we need a ready to go ruckman.
That website is hilarious. I particularly like the link to View My Awards, which when you click on takes you to a page that says 404 Sorry Page Not found. ROFLMAO.I got a little interested mid year when we were linked (what haven't we been linked to this year?!?!) to Goldsack, Trengove and a couple others. Then I remembered googling it to find tidbits of information and came across his website (pompous..?) where it said he's fine where he is. I just googled again and found this from that time:

Agree Santa- I know for a fact that he had pretty bad hip problems from mid season and could not run or jump as well as he would like. Has been operated on from what I am told and will be interesting to see how he performs next year.totally disagree i think browne has done well to even get a game considering how raw he was when drafted as a rookie.sometimes they show little for 3 or 4 yrs. yes he has a fair few things he needs to work on but if every young ruckman was delisted after just 3 yrs few would ever go on and play afl.
Yeah give Browne a chance, he's a big unit and with some more confidence and aggression could be ok. He will never be that extra mid like a Dean Cox but we don't have one of those to push him out of the side yet
I would prefer to keep Browne over Gus - as at least he's 21 and could show improvement. But unfortunately Gus is contracted, which will mean Browne will have to go.
I see him as like Sam Jacobs, he will take time to mature and then we might have a man-mountain who domiantes the hitouts and has a fair-dinkum crack
Maric was ranked 4th in the afl for hitouts to advantage last year. That already makes him a better ruck then Graham.
It's about quality, not quantity people.
Angus may get more tap outs per game, but he rarely hits the ball with purpose. It's almost always at his feet.
Sign Maric up IMO. A four year deal for just 250k per season is a bargain.

I thought we should have been into Roughhead and Jarrod Grant last season , haven't seen anything this season which has changed my mind, although Grant does appear an unusual character ?Anyone thought of either of the two young WB ruckmen in Roughhead and Cordy, both look extremely likely types. Would cost a fair bit but both are enterring the right age braquet with serious talent
