I think after the Ebert trade we'll end up wtih 23, 28, 63 and 81.

I don't think we'd part wtih 23 or 28 but we'd gladly trade our 3rd picks as we're just going to use it to upgrade Hams, most likely.

Anyway, would pick 63 be enough to get Nason? I doubt it.

If we don't let pick 45 go in the Ebert trade, perhaps picks 45 and 63 could tempt you? Or am I way off?

Don't think we'll be trading out any more players. Certainly not Stevens.

If Collingwood were willing to take 45 for Macaffer then I wouldn't hesitate to do it.

Agree with you Luke, we have done good this trade period.......but if we can snare Macaffer we will have done great.

That's all I ask for Tiges, to at least attempt to get Macaffer

Mcgaune to Brisbane
Brisbane's 3rd round pick to Richmond
The Mcguane pick to Collingwood for Macaffer

do you think we should go after J.caddy who bombers want we have higher first pick sounds pretty good

Yeah definitely go after him.

Pick 15 + Bock Compo pick will do it (he is pick 7 from last year) and with the few people I knew that played at the Northern Knights, he was an absolute jet and is suffering from homesickness.

We want a great midfield get, and we can get someone every bit that with Josh Caddy, we can outbid Essendon, I'd happily give them McGuane, Pick 15 + Compo Pick if the Compo + Pick 15 didn't do it for them.

Is see EFC are kidding themselves trying to get Caddy on the AFL website!!

We could trump that surely!!!

not only that , as opposed to EFC, Caddy has a chance to play in a premiership with the Tigers in the next 10 years, EFC are no chance IMO!!!

No wonder EFC have been acting quietly if that is there intention, they cannot hope to compete with us in an open market!!

Caddy helps us release the beast doc martin in the forward line more so he would be a required player at RFC!!

Absolute insanity would only prevent Caddy not going to RFC before EFC if the opportunity arose!!

Imagine having Caddy and Dusty rotating mid and forward! :D
I actually think 15 and compo would be fair and get the job done. Gold Coast currently do not have a 1st round pick and would be happy to get back into the top 15.

The only issue is that leaves us with 55, 73 & 91 and we have to use 3 selections. Would probably have to try and ship Nason and McGuane off for third rounders.

I go for Richmond too, but **** me your one eyed. People actually tend to think we are shit ya know.

Pretty sure we have to have three picks can pass on them if we want to.

OMG, now I am starting to worry. You seem to think ladder position is a better indication of premiership prospects than list composition!! Am I right??

Unfortunately for Essendon, are lot of their better players are getting older and they just do not have the upside like we do.

We can offer GC more than EFC and not only that going forward in future trades we can offer GC more. Fact is , even if I was a pies or blues supporter I would acknowledge EFC are just treading water:eek:

I thought that was obvious for all to see including other teams!!:eek:

You do realise we are gradually letting our spuds go and EFC have more list building needed than we do!!!

Caddy would be foolish not to see that but then again what Clarke sees at Freo is beyond me as well. When Freo fail to win the premiership with Pav and Sandi it will be too late for him but that is his problem!!

The 2 teams are gc and essendon I don't think they are better than us! But some people do so you can't be saying it's foolish for someone too chose another club.

If you are Caddy and you go through the lists of players who are going to be around in 5 years for RFC versus EFC when Caddy is in his prime, who has the better team??? EFC will not be winning a premiership in the next 8 years at least or I know nothing about football!!! I am trying to be kind, frankly I doubt Hurley/Heppell will see a premiership at EFC to be honest!!

Blind Freddy can see RFC will be vastly superior to EFC in the next 3 years minimum!!

Apart from Hurley and the new guy EFC have very little at all IMO!!

Are we actually interseted in Caddy at all?? Or is it just rumour cos Bombers are into him

I'd love him, apparently he's a madman around the packs and hits both the player and the ball hard.

I would give up pick 15, compo pick and Mcguane if we had too

Here's another one:

Compo pick and Ben Nason to West Coast for Koby Stevens

no no no the last time i watched him at e freo his kicking was still atrocious.
lovely size hard at it but sheesh he lacks in one of the basics of the game.
keep the compo and target a player who is not lacking in one of the basics.

I rate them (Bombers), Zaha and Melksham are going to be class acts. Watson is elite, Hocking is very solid. Heppell could be anything. And there bookends are fantastic with Pears, Hooker, Hurley, Hardingham, Crameri and Gumbleton. Then they have Ryder who can turn it on.

All young, we did brilliantly to beat them in the dreamtime game tbh

Richmond were looking at Caddy to draft, but despite some people insisting on taking him, they chose Conca instead. Throw the kitchen sink at him, he will be a player.

He won't be expensive and he has the 'want to go home' factor.

Offload 1st pick and Compo for him and if GC aren't satisfied, possibly a player.

Think about it as (14) 2011 (weak draft) (25) 2012 (super draft) for (7) 2010 (strong draft)

I will be brutally honest,Melksham has ability, Zaha is a worker, Watson is too old for Caddy's aspirations, Pears is handy, Hooker just, Hardingham who knows, Crameri will he make it?? and Gumbleton probably wont!!!

My father is an Essendon supporter, don't worry he knows how shit they are!!! Like my brother a blues supporter they get the fuzzy feeling in finals, 'oh it might happen' but during the season home and away, they win here they lose there, they know where their teams are, mid range and not going anywhere fast. Fact is EFC are attempting football rape on GC IMO and that is the only way they can improve.

These are the Rance type moments, where you say, well we didn't think of this because we didn't think you would be available just like Wallace at the draft table, but now we know you are we would love to have you so climb on board and enjoy the ride with us to a realistic premiership goal!!!

This is what the compensation picks are for go get him I say!!! Never look a gift horse in the mouth!!!

In all honesty I'm quite happy with what we have done this week. We've kept hold of the compo pick for next year(well at this stage anyway) and we've effectively traded in Morris and Maric for a 1 spot downgrade and pick 37.

Given both Morris and Maric fill a list need I find it very hard to think that we could have done much better by going to the draft and the F/S auction given it would have cost us pick 37 minimum to get Morris given Port were going to bid for him.

Hopefully over the weekend we're able to trade back into the second round, although I find it unlikely. However like the old saying goes you never know if you never ask.

I wish the recruiting team came on bigfooty to look at all these theories and try them out at trade week.....would be interesting
Thankfully they don't.

caddy would perfectly compliment cotch in the middle, and also has the ability to go forward and kick a few goals. dont think we will get him as we dont have the currency, but i hope we draft someone like him in the next two drafts.

what list need does morris fill. a genuine big bodied medium backman. if anything this is one area we had reasonable depth in. batchelor dea deledio orielly even conca. the rookie jakobi and a kid like helbig could do with develpment time there.
not complaining though they obviously think he has plety to offer may mean we down the track we can offload one of the others for a reasonable pick. you can never have too many of any type.

the rumor that port was going to bid for morris is just that rumour. and even if they were how likely is it they would offer up a second rounder sheesh.either prove they were going to offer up a second rounder or at least admit the its a rumour.

Morris says he is most comfortable playing a lock down defender role which does fill a need in our backline.
