I actually thought he was going to be good, and he's a reasonably big bodied mid, an area where we need to build some depth, maybe a fresh start would help him.

I think his kicking is a fraction erratic, but have some memories of him looking smooth and when he connected, a clearly fluid and quick kick

We have plenty of rookie spots. If by chance he was available at our third pick, I'd consider. That said, North cutting Jim with a year to go is a shocking sign an laziness seems an issue. Rookie draft probably best option, but wouldn't chase

Urquhart isn't even that big of a body. Never put size on at all at the Kangas. Which probably shows a lack of effort. Not a great kick. Would rather get Ben Ross.

I am pretty sure clubs can do this, isn't that what we did with Gourdis? As for the age limit not too sure.

Im certain that we were interested in him 12 months or so ago, not sure why it didnt materialise, looks like someone that would be an upgrade on a Nason type on our list

Bottom line: We all know we need a quality mid, preferably inside mid to replace both Tuck & Jackson over the next 1-2 years. This will occur , it only depends on whom it will be
I hoping as predicted certain players will slide giving us a secondary quality mid, lets hope we nail these, anything else is a huge bonus.

I have a feeling Conca is earmarked for that midfield in and under extractor. Perfect replacement for Tuck. Showed impressive signs with no pre-season in his first year. With a full pre-season, he will be a regular next year, and beyond that will be a very good in and under midfielder for years to come.

It takes nearly every draftee a couple of years to build the confidence to play their natural game at AFL level.

Honestly Conca is silk and im always surprised to see posters having a go at him just because he was taken one pick before an unaccountable half back flank who will proberbly play at the same level the rest of his carear.

Cotchin's first year was similiar to Conca's in that they were injury riddled and never fully fired but i dont recall him copping as many queries over his ability

Delidio is all that we expect & we really need him to be replaced at HB so he can be moved into the mid/wing/hf position where he can really do some damage.

extremely smart and effective just needs a couple of pre seasons & confidence at this level to become a classy inside/outside mid that will be a solid AFL midfielder .................... Very confident in the selection

Foley , I really believe we should of traded nathan but only for 2 picks inside the top 20. Whilst he is a gun player and i believe he will be better this year than last I believe he is at his peak and just a couple of years older than what we need .................... But still a gun

Just an animal that will maul any body that plays on him, just needs to get his fitness up to be able to run hard all game . But that will come

Thats 5 Mids that we have that are or will be at the highest level - Elite
But its just not enough , We need another 4-5 mids that are also at a very high level that will provide us with the rotation we require.
We need to go all out this & next draft in 2012 to fill these positions

We Must select 2 big bodied inside mids with good disposal & good speed that will provide us with depth with our 1st 2 picks also another 3-4 similar types in the rookie draft , you never know what 'Gems' might be found there.

But really need to stock up in the next 2 years on mids.

why do we have to constantly compare players we got , against who we didnt get? Essendon had the only real & accurate "in sight" to heppell (his doctor, being Essendons doctor). so they got him , its over move on... For what it's worth l think Batcherlor (Greame Landy), is every bit the player Heppell is: We got Conca, so let's talk about how we got Conca, Batchelor, Helbig & Derryx, or our positive inclusions : Maric & Morriss All these players have improved our list, so well done FJ & co;
