I just don't get how GC would simply throw in the towel. They were up by 5 goals and flying. They got overran and convincingly beaten by a team desperate for a win. That happens nearly every week in football but because Harley Reid was part of the equation, GC 'gave up'. Larkey kicked 9, our young midfield had a day out and our boys enjoyed themselves. Should we force them to not do that and fold? What message does that send? Go into every game leaving nothing left in the tank and the desire to win. We're not going down the Melbourne tanking route. That's just embracing the losing culture and effectively, killing the footy club. Is that what we want?

We were all pissed at our effort in 2022 when we met them at Marvel after signing Clarkson. We were embarrassed.

How painful and humiliating would it have been to go into 2024 with a losing streak on our heads?

**** me lads this isn't stuff that you can just turn on and off. Once you choose the dark path it sticks. Melbourne needed at least 10 years to recover. Let's not go down that route.

I’d imagine there would be some soft spots, some areas the turf wouldn’t have completely “bedded” down yet.

It's not bedded in well enough for the match sim versus Collingwood. They moved that to Olympic Park.
