That was the last game I saw live Gaso. He kicked it a minute before the siren from nearly directly in front. I think if he'd kicked it we would have missed LDU and drafted Sleevo.

How long left now Redball?

At the parole hearing I bet you do this next time to get to the next live game

In the last 3 weeks there have been 4 club interviews with media. Simpkin, Adcock, Barlow & Corr. All have singled this guy out. He's clearly impressing.
Really fills a need too!
If he can't keep his pace and agility while filling out his body, I think we'll be onto a winner

No doubt Colby ends up a top 20 player in the comp in my mind.

It’s why I was consistent all year with “McKercher no matter what..” even with the Reid trade scenarios.

He just has too many weapons, both physical (ultra rare endurance/elite speed combo), footy IQ is through the roof and his skill set is ultra damaging. To not end up right at the point end.

I don’t think anyone at the club possesses a 9/10 athletic profile and a 9/10 footy profile. Wardlaw is the closest for raw power on the athletic side and footy profile is comparable with his contested ability, skill level isn’t as good though.

He very much has the ceiling to be the alpha footballer in this future side, which is a big call with LDU, Wardlaw and Sheezel in it.

It’s no surprise he already jumps out as one of the better players on the track.

But Nostra wanted The Wiz!

I think we need to separate some aspects of this 'can or can't kick' conversation.

Poor kicking is often just a by-product of fatigue, which is more common for younger players who gas themselves more often in games. IMO its incorrect to say that kicking cannot be improved - I think you absolutely can keep improving right up till the late 20's as you make your body stronger and more able to do the things you ask of it.

My thoughts are that the thing that is hard to remove is kicking instincts. Lets take someone like JZ, who had these instincts in close to ALWAYS bomb it out when in a contest. He never was able to fully change that, if he felt any pressure he would not hang on or look or even think about placement, he would always go for taking up ground.
Not entirely accurate, specifically taking past seasons into account.

Hawthorn were the youngest list this year & had the second best DE across the competition, Fremantle the second youngest list with the best DE in the comp.

Also JZ had one of the best DE in the competition this year at 81.8%... was ranked 12th for most kicks across the entire competition this year and the third best by foot at 80.7%...

Perhaps the odd kick he bombed was significantly noticeable, but all in all, he was solid.

Absolute rubbish. Tell me Gary Junior, Bartell, Enright were too tired to kick? I can list ****ing elite kicks that dont cook kicks because they’re “tired, weak and poor”, I can name an abundance of st kilda players through out their tenure, hawthorn players, sydney, west coke players. have a spell. You are making excuses for players that can’t kick. All those players that can kick in dynasty football club premiers who were the point of difference in winning and losing could all kick a footy lace out at 18 as they could at 21 throughout their entire career.

Ive watched Jy blaze balls over leading forwards or drop that shit on the bounce in the first few minutes of a game.

I would never put JZ in a class of elite kicking. Far from it, had nothing to do with fatigue. He was a forward who played mid. He was never a lace out kick.
