Just quietly watching every Carlton game last year as part of an upcoming post - stay tuned folks - and holy shit he has impressed me. Not the focus of my attention but he draws the eye. Go watch Round 4 vs the Dogs if you want to see a surprisingly composed and involved young man making waves.
His contest work - particularly his ability to hold his ground, protect the fall of the ball and maintain front position - was extremely impressive against the Swans at the SCG.

Have the new guys got nicknames yet?
What would we propose?

Jarrod Pickett:................De Fence.
Harrison Macreadie:........Hammer (HaMa)........Ok, it will be H.Mac 2 or something like that.
SPS:.............................I always see Siposs up seeing those letters together. Probably Sammy. Right?
Cameron Polson.............CamPo is a good one. (suggested elsewhere)
LeBois:.........................Bossy?
Tom Williamson.............Tommy...........You know it will be............or Willo.
Pat Kerr........................Duck (only a few may work this one out :))

I still like Cracker as a nickname for Polson (Polly get it ?)

And on ShanDog's posts, i am determined to make The Prince stick as a moniker for Charlie, i have been signing his praises since the moment he was drafted, there's something regal and majestic about how he plays, and i hope his zest and enthusiasm rubs off on some of his more introverted teammates.

You could argue that zest was one of the intangible qualities the Dogs had by the bucketload this season, we could do with a few more zesty players at the footy club imho.

Anyone else cack themselves thinking about Charlie's ridiculously unlimited ceiling? Just me? K........

I heard Michael Turner sing his praises before the draft and ever since we drafted him, I have tried to keep myself grounded in my expectations and hopes for him. Turner did mention they still had not really unwrapped his potential for where his best position would be. He did make it sound like the most upside he'd seen for a youngster in his time.
Think might have found the audio actually.

Even in first year at Carlton because of his glandular fever and then Casboult ? injured him against Sydney, we barely seen much ourselves. That Sydney game was exciting though as one of rare times I got to see Jack Silvagni and Charlie Curnow play together. I think Curnow had to sit out second half and maybe was put on ice for rest of season.

Can someone please fast forward to round one. I cannot wait.

1986 pre-season was pretty exciting too knowing Kernahan, Bradley and Motley were about to make their debut. Dorotich from WA too and Mil Hanna looked an exciting youngster in the pre-season that year. As someone mentioned a week ago, Bosustow was on the cards to come back too. There was potential in pre-season to expect 6 new players in round one. Was exciting times. In the end only Sticks, Braddles and Dorotich were there at end of the game. Motley got injured in pre-season, Buzz never got back to club due to clearance not settled with WA club and Hanna done his knee early in the match. We lost to Hawks at Waverley and remember Platten made his debut for Hawks that day too.

Sober as a judge, me...scout's honour.

The amount of players I've seen in the last few months roll with the -y suffix is doing my nut in.

Crippa himself said Picketty a while back, and I saw Darcy Parish the other day go with Myersy...fmd...

I'm not saying I like it, but it is inevitable, like a Milham Hanna torpedo ending up in Princes Park (the park bit, not the footy ground).

Er, he ain't kidding. Go to 3.30 for some awesome awesomness from Turner re: CC. Mind you this is the same bloke said Hendo would captain a team one day. Still might , just won't be ours. Charlie - it's already at the stage where I'd be happy to watch him put sauce on his pie.

Clearly Neesy or Neesa

Call me what you like. I'm not that precious.
Neese is the name given to me by my oldest nephew (who is now 19) because he couldn't say Denise. So I am Neese to family and friends.
I also answer to Dennis, Debbie and Robyn.
