Have the AFL announced the time of their press conference that outlines the restrictions for all clubs to limit training this week out of the home to be limited to one hour a day and only a maximum of 2 people at a time?

Fairness of the game right, or already that's what was alluded to last year. So presumably sometime in the next 24 hours it will be announced.

Its fcuked, but why wreck the preseason of sixteen other teams because of Perth's lock down rules? Hopefully its just the five days and we can treat it as a minor inconvenience.

Because that would be fair. As per this article last year:

But Herald Sun reporter John Ralph says the AFL has stepped in to stress that all clubs must abide by initial rules where players can only train with one other player.

AFL football boss Steve Hocking has emailed clubs telling them the competitive equalisation measures would remain in place so teams did not have an unfair advantage.

“Rival Victorian clubs had on Monday and Tuesday complained to the league about a competitive advantage,” Ralph wrote.

Well not really. Last year it was two teams getting a leg up, which made sense for them to drag us down to their training limits. But its ridiculous to have sixteen other teams being subjected to the same limitations that two other teams are subjected to, not comparable at all. We'll be good come Saturday, this is a minor inconvenience at most.

It's an interesting situation. Fairness would dictate they place limitations on the other clubs, as this will clearly set the two WA teams back. It's obviously not that simple, but Gil's response will be fascinating nonetheless.

Has anything Gil has ever said or done been fascinating?

What's the difference between two teams having an advantage and two teams having a disadvantage? If one is negligible, the other must be too.

Surely you don't doubt the integrity of the AFL and it's glorious equalisation methods? I'm sure Gil will front the media first thing tomorrow to assure everyone that all clubs will have the same training restrictions.

Its easy to reign two teams in for having an advantage, compared to having sixteen teams being forced into a disadvantage.

I'm as one eyed as you can get but its a ridiculous comparison. The AFL will not force Perth restrictions on sixteen other teams, nor should they.

The complaint is still valid though.

It's disappointing if the AFL clubs haven't been given any exemption. I think it makes it more likely the WA clubs will be spending part of the year in hubs at some point.

It’s 5 days.. not going to lose much advantage in 5 days. Probably 2 maybe 3 sessions on the track. Rest are weights and theory sessions. If it stretches any longer then maybe. They’re not going to make restrictions for 5 days

Remember when VIC teams were subject to training restrictions when under Victorian law they could have trained in larger groups, because interstate teams were still required to train in smaller groups?

Of course you don't, because that's not convenient.

Another example...it's not a disadvantage because it's not Victoria affected.

I think the AFL stuffed up the first time, and made a rod for their own back by making up a 'policy' on the run (again).

Is there now a rule that it only applies for more than a week, 2 weeks, a month???

Set up a guideline and then everyone knows what's going to happen. It's not like they haven't had almost 12m to sort one out!

After a season where Vic teams were literally bent over backwards just to get through the season we still have interstate supporters (mainly West Australians again) sooking about the the League after Vic teams.
