Its easy to reign two teams in for having an advantage, compared to having sixteen teams being forced into a disadvantage.

I'm as one eyed as you can get but its a ridiculous comparison. The AFL will not force Perth restrictions on sixteen other teams, nor should they.

That makes no sense, no one is going to be disadvantaged if everyone is in the same boat. Atm it’s exactly the same as last year but in reverse where only two clubs get an advantage/disadvantage. It’s completely illogical to say it’s okay for two clubs to have a disadvantage but it’s not okay for them to have an advantage.

Someone's forgotten the first 6 weeks of the season!
It’s amazing how many Victorian posters forget about this. If their teams hadn’t of been forced out of the state due to COVID most of them wouldn’t of hubbed at all. Meanwhile, the rest were hubbing while their home states were COVID free

It’s five days FFS.
It’s 5 days.. not going to lose much advantage in 5 days. Probably 2 maybe 3 sessions on the track. Rest are weights and theory sessions. If it stretches any longer then maybe. They’re not going to make restrictions for 5 days
It’s 5 days. Stop your sooking and carry on. Wah wah, winge winge. Different year, same WA posters.
There's a rumour coming from within the health department that there's a 2nd case. If so then the 5 days is going to be extended out.

What happens then?

AFL might just have to put Fremantle and west coast into a hub to continue pre season training
I thought that it would be primarily the government's decision if they're allowed to hub. Following that decision then it would be up to the AFL to organise their hubs if allowed.

If that 2nd case is confirmed today then it will be a 14 day shut down for all of the metro area and the AFL will need to make an immediate decision if all other clubs are to follow suit.

It may happen very quickly.

Fingers crossed there are no other cases so the rest of the competition isn't affected.

Depends on your premier. He’s pretty hardcore. How’s his popularity over there? Are the locals getting frustrated?

You would think he is popular and will win the election by a huge margin he did keep Western Australia COVID-19 free for 10 months

He just plays to the popular vote so who knows what he's up to. His press conference yesterday showed how underprepared they are over here.

If that 2nd case comes back as positive it will be lights out for at least a fortnight.

That bloke who is the 1st case is also an Uber driver as well. How a security guard working in quarantine is allowed to drive passengers around as well is a joke.

Why would the advice change for a second case.

Its the principle & lack thereof.
Some of us dont believe Gil will follow the money, no sign of equity in the national comp he oversees.

It’s going to be critical in mid-June, huh.

For 5 days I don't see the point of other teams having to limit their preseason. These kind of things could be popping up in all the other states so they would have to continually implement limitations. They will be able to work around it pretty easy as a lot of pre-season is fitness and strategy anyway.
If it stretches out to 14 days then I think for fairness of the league they should make all the other teams have the same conditions.

He lives with 3 other people who would have also been spreading it around but as yet they are not confirmed as having Covid.

No further positive cases.

Got to love the advance lock down warnings.

Give everyone 6 hrs to cram shoulder to shoulder in shopping centres (social distancing to be damned) and then let a fair portion of them stream out of the city before lockdown comes into effect.

Albany Highway going south yesterday afternoon, was bumper to bumper in sections so if there had been community transmission, it would have been spread far and wide across the State.

1/2 arsed lockdowns & fully arsed AFL equality measures deserve the same amount of respect.

Although happy to be proved wrong by GIL as he might just apply WA Club restrictions AFL wide (and pigs might fly).

Arrogance from Victorians saying this is sooky, what should have happened last year is that teams outside Victoria should have been left alone and allowed to train because they were in less affected Covid areas.

That's what should have happened, but it didn't and the AFL stepped in to make it fairer for Victorians, whether you think that's the right call or not is immaterial. They did that and therefore they should do it again.
