It`s a nice cliche. The ones dragged out each and every year for the draft are equally as impressive. My fav is " I can`t believe he got down to us"

we had him as the number 1 pick

One of the most ridiculous comments / false hopes in football.

Compares to Carlton/Geelong making the pre season cup final....Absolute joke.

Still remember Carey Training the house down in his final year......

I honestly believe that if coaches start saying "players are training the house down" then they are fighting for their career.

Bandy consistently at both freo and the doggies trained the house down...

how do u train the house down??

It's usually reserved for the somewhat talented but very injury-prone blokes that have got onto the park 7 times TOTAL in the last 4 years, and of course are having their "best pre-season ever" before something snaps again in March. Usually blokes with shot hamstrings. Olarenshaw, Cripps, Urch, etc

Week 1 Pre season: "Aaron Henneman is finally injury free and is the fittest he has ever been, expect a big year from him.

Week 4 Pre season:
"Aaron Henneman Has re-done a reocurrance of his shoulder injury that he re-injured last year, and will be out for the season. He did it in a marking contest against himself."

End of season: "Aaron Henneman has been re-signed, despite rumours of a trade or de-listing. The club says he is a talented player and is worth sticking buy."

Is it just me or has this been the story for the last 5 years?;)
