Would we a better structured team with someone like Weideman, or CCJ?
The former can play forward, back and a bit of ruck. The latter is more of a ruck/bit part forward.
Interested in peoples thoughts.

We will have Comben in at HF/FF so I asume that will do the same thing structurally. CCJ training forward will compete for the same spot.
Astounded to this day the lack of respect that Gibbo gets for what he provided for our club.
His apparent inability to hit targets and turn the ball over was exaggerated to the point of fantasy. His disposal efficiency was higher than most of our supposed better users of the ball. I saw him hit absolute bullets to team mates on many occasion. Turnovers happen when you’ve run twice the distance of others with repeat efforts when others couldn’t keep going. It’s not a coincidence we have not gotten close to finals since the days of Gibbo.
We’ve not had a winger close to his level (though I think we have a couple in the wings now) since those days that he ran himself to exhaustion well into the dying minutes of last quarters. I’d take Gibbo 7/10 to Smith 9/10 any day of the week considering a) he was ours, and b) we passed up on the opportunity of taking Smith when he was right under our noses anyway.
It's a fair question. I'm not even sure there is a correct answer though, since it ultimately comes down to the quality of the individual player.
You probably have to re-word your question as to the type of player we prefer as 2nd fiddle to Larkey. "Someone like Weidemann" may be your correct answer, but I don't think Weidemann himself is!
Because if you had said "Someone like Weidemann vs Someone like CCJ", I'd probably lean to the latter.
And, in reality, Comben is more like CCJ than Weidemann imo.
If you gave me the choice of the 2 players you mention on our list, I'd happily enough take CCJ. Until I see Weidemann put on "a" muscle, he ain't gonna make it at AFL level.
At least do something. Do. Don't think, Themanbun don’t hope. Do. At least you can say, 'I did this, I went to the match sim, I wrote a report. At least I did something for the sake of Big Footy. Do. Act. Don’t think, act. Eye on the ball. The contest is still the same. You must write the match report. And more than that, when you write the match report you support the Big Footy posters who can't attend. And you must be determined enough to stick with us and do it. The Big Footy crowd might laugh (they won't). It might go wrong (it won't). I'm game enough to tell you to do it. Are you game enough to back me up? Are you game enough, Themanbun , to back me up on that? Go to training. Write that report.
(With apologies to Kanga Kennedy)
Cheers for the in depth response. If anything, you've at least made me question my spelling of Weideman/Weidemann...
I will be therePractice match 9:15am Wednesday,
4x15 minute quarters is what I've been told. Apologies if this is known.
The way we were expected to be the fittest team around running the ball out of defence, but then got caught out in transition and had no-one capable of gut-running and getting back to help the defenders, Gibson would have been our MVP.Agree. I wonder how we would have gone under Noble’s crab walking game plan.

Recovery is not an option I'd choose
That does sound a lot weirder man.And you were correct!
Maybe I meant to write Weideman* since he has now changed clubs.
your first mistake there was rating polecI’m getting flashbacks to when I hyped up polec in last years match sim
Reminder - we are versing ourselves

I have always never rated polec
I was confident but he really does lack awareness and doesn't anticipate the play well enough - a must if you're playing on crafty forwards. He has all the tools but not the game smarts. His opponents were able to get seperation from him just by reading the play quicker than him and taking off a split second sooner...not by a clever piece of play.I feel it’s a confidence thing with Bonar, at present he really has had a stop start career, once he seems to get it going, getting those small wins, he gets injured for what ever reason.
A block of decent games, a few good runs and I think we’ll see a player.
Bon has all the attributes to be a weapon in defence for usBon with some nice run and carry out of this movement drill, Flynn’s decision making has left a little to be desired,
Chom with a massive smother on Flynn as he tried to love it out the back 50
Shiels vocally massive and acting as that on field coach
Curtis got out the back a few times in those movements looks like he will be pretty slippery this year, absolute handful for small defenders
