The question with this analysis is around the inclusion of Stevo, Powell, Taylor, CCJ, Perez and Bonar in Category C.
No question about Stevo, he a shitman. Powell he addressed, he should really be in cat A. Taylor and Perez have shown a lot of promise but its time to deliver. CCJ is an unknown and Bonar, well he just doesn't seem up to it.

The intraclub got me thinking when they competed a few times. Ben is rightly recognised as a key piece of the puzzle to lock away.

But Nick has become such an integral part of the side over the last 3-4 years it's easy to overlook the fact he's actually a year younger than McKay.
Nicks kicked almost 90 goals in 2 seasons in one of the worst teams of all time. He's massively underrated round these parts

Loving the different views on how we should set up.

In years gone by it was 8 or so decent players and shitmen filling the remaining spots.

(GROUP A)
  1. Phillips 0 games in 2022
  2. Sheezel -0
  3. Comben- 1
  4. Archer- 3
  5. Bergman- 1
  6. Ford-3
  7. Goater-1
  8. Wardlaw-0
  9. Dawson -4

13 games for the up-and-comers in 2022

(GROUP B )
  1. Goldy- 22 games in 2022
  2. Zurhaar- 19
  3. McKay- 15
  4. Curtis- 15
  5. McDonald- 22
  6. Scott- 21
  7. Simpkin- 21
  8. LDU- 21
  9. Ziebull- 19
  10. Larkey- 20
  11. Hall- 11
  12. Greenwood- 21
  13. Corr
  14. Logue- 0
  15. Tucker- 0
  16. Shiels- 0
  17. Howe- 0
  18. Cunnington- 2
232 games for grp B in 2022

(GROUP C- shitmen)

  1. Mahony- 13 games in 2023
  2. Xerri- 12
  3. CCJ- 10
  4. Taylor- 22
  5. Lazzaro- 12
  6. Perez- 16
  7. Bonar- 10
  8. Powell- 18
  9. Spicer- 5
  10. Turner- 17
  11. Young- 20
  12. Stephenson- 16
171 games for the Shitmen.

Too many games played by the Shitmen for my liking. Hence why we're dead last I suppose.
I think Powell will drag himself out of the mire. A few others may follow
Perez, Young and Bonar are all OOC at seasons end, which speaks volumes for how they're perceived internally one could suggest.

With Logue, Tucker, Shiels, Howe in the mix along with a raft of youngsters Curtis Taylor would want to be careful imo.

So I'd like to see most weeks

Group A- 6

Group B- 14

Group C- 3

That gives us experience, enough youngsters in the side and minimal shitmen.

10/12 wins right there.
Talented young player who needs time =/= shitmen

So you think the bloke who won the Rising Star is a shitman? Ok.

watch the start of the intra club game. He pulls out of the first contest he goes near. Heppell (who also won the rising star) cops it on here all the time and Stevo is 10 times worse. You ok with having someone that gutless in the side? He's an inconsistent cat.

Obviously he will never be a Glenn Archer type, but if used smartly, there is room for a class player who is on the softer side

Random observations.

Clarkson an absolute livewire. Lots of energy, time for everyone from youngest to oldest. Even went around making the first approach to people hanging back. Gun.

Prize for saying gday to supporters without prompting goes to (drumroll)............ Jaidyn. Nice work lad.

Kearney is as friendly and forthcoming as expected.

Hamish Free is a rather very large person.

Jy, Luke Mc and young Gorgeous George all lovely fellas. Yeh I just used lovely for men. Deal with it and get over your insecurities ffs.

Any updates on how Jacob Edwardes pre-season has gone, Is Clarko persisting with him as a forward or brought him back into the ruck where he belongs?

He played in the second half of the intra club, I think playing half-forward but contested some of the ruck contests. I don't think anyone has the luxury of playing just one position unless they are elite in that position.

I am not sure how much weight he has put on this pre-season but he was about 15kg short of where he needs to be last year, you just can't put a 202cm 85kg in the ruck and ruck all day against 100kg+ guys, they will physically destroy him, playing half-forward is as much about getting his versatility up as it is making sure he doesn't die on the park.

If he wants to be a ruckman he is going to have to do what every other ruckman has done and dominated in the VFL before getting that role in the AFL. He is very talented and I hope he gets there but someone like Gawn will use him as anal floss atm, he ragdolls our 103-105kg ruckmen.

“Anal floss”….not ideal for Jacob.

Burning up the track like an animal. He's taking the kick ins and producing 35m lasers.

Lock him in for 22 games plus finals.

Domino effect methinks.

Both Larkey and McKay should benefit from Logue, Corr, Comben and Zurhaar playing as 3rd banana.

In theory, McKay has a contract year set up much like Greenbucks did after he spent 7 years on the list.

LDU, I think signed last year with no Cunners, no Phillips, a dud coach and so on, so the opposite.

Thank you, it really isn't that difficult!

One shitmen or 12 shitmen. Just plain old-fashioned shitmen
Ahh but what is the collective noun of shitmen?

A broken tackle of shitmen? A disappointment of shitmen?
