I was confident but he really does lack awareness and doesn't anticipate the play well enough - a must if you're playing on crafty forwards. He has all the tools but not the game smarts. His opponents were able to get seperation from him just by reading the play quicker than him and taking off a split second sooner...not by a clever piece of play.

Opposition teams were exploiting it too (leaving space in front of them for bonar's opponent to lead up into). Looked like a training drill and s**t you learn in under 16s (turning into your opponent, pushing off the chest to put them on the back foot and then take off on the lead...Bonar was getting worked by that...
:drunk:

Get strong Kyron Hayden vibes. Both are brilliant athletes but at this level appear a step behind for the reasons you say.

I’m getting flashbacks to when I hyped up polec in last years match sim :cautiousv1:

Reminder - we are versing ourselves⚠️⚠️

Would like this more if you'd been able to have "versing" and the grammar correction in the same post. Would have been A grade trolling of gen X / boomer grammar nazis.

SHOOSH NO ONE IS SUPPOSED TO KNOW

I am the only one who can say versing because gen z made it up btw, it’s my own slang now, so no one can make fun of it.

Ok zoomer.

my friends were saying it in the 70s (obviously I didn’t because i was a premature curmudgeon even at primary school). Kids today think they invented all the young people stuff

If you were using versing in the 70's you were failing English. Verse is a preposition not a verb. (Unless of course you are talking about writing verses of poetry, then you can be deemed to be versing)

Ligma frantically googling "preposition meaning"

The only other appropriate use of versing is to take the piss out of zoomers.

Verse can be used as a verb. If you verse yourself in a subject you are reading up on it.

Y'all need to be digging deeper into the papyrus.

If you check the library in Cairo, with regards to describing the direction of travel for their chariots Narmar, the first Egyptian pharaoh had his scribes record;

Versing - a forward movement
Reversing - a backward movement

Every time I’ve been to training, Dawson has been quite prominent. Some blokes you barely notice, but he seems to be constantly involved.

Yeah he is going well, I wonder if he's put on much size? Is listed as 194cm 78Kg's.
Also aware it is a small sample size but his average of 5.2 marks per game would have put him fifth for average marks per yr for us. I'm big on 190cm plus guys being marking targets. Yeah realise his contested marks are down, but at 78Kg's that is hardly surprising.
So finding the ball isn't an issue.

I think he's a good chance of being in our best side in time, like half of them I suppose.

Oh apparently Bonars is looking the best he has and Spicer is near cooked. According to old mate, he has been wrong before though.

Really rate Bonars 188cm 87kg's is quick and strong, Probably my most frustrating player on our list. I'd love to see this with ALL deserving a game of course.

Bonars McKay McDonald
Corr Logue Dawson

That has the makings of a solid backline. And has some experience to it.

Also then we've Hall, Drury, Perez, Young, Archer and Bergman.

A few of those I feel will spend a fair bit of the year in the VFL cutting their teeth so to speak.
