Well next year, Witts will be turning 24 no? So he's basically 1 season (2 at most) from entering his "peak". I'd say he's a perfect fit for GWS and they know it. He's from Sydney so there's no risk of home sickness. They'll have Mummy for one more season which means Witts establishes himself as the number 1 right as he's entering his peak period.

Seems like Pick 7(8) plus Witts should get it done. maybe another lower pick (to satisfy their points requirement) at most. I'm ok with that.

edit. Yep just checked. Witts turns 23 on Sunday. So he'll be 24 when Mummy is finishing up. Timing is perfect for all this imo.

It's going to be a lot tougher finding a trade that suits GWS with just Treloar IMO let alone throwing in a player of Picketts quality. Can't see it happening

Bucks was pretty clear Grundy/Witts was the future and would be persisted with.

Witts dropped all of a sudden.

We are heavily linked to Kreuzer.

GWS say they require a bigger bodied ruck to support Mumford.

Says to me once we knew Witts would be part of the deal Bucks decided to go Grundy solo and see what our game plan would be without Witts.

I think you will find it will be a package of Treloar plus a player such as Hampton who they need to release to free up their list. It is easier for them if they are resigned to losing Treloar, to trade both to us. In fact it might help the trade to go through if we agree to take Hampton. Pickett on the other hand is different unless there is something we don't know about him. Question is why would GWS trade Pickett?

It doesn't even go close to the points GWS need, they want to pick up 2 academy kids who are rated highly this year.

That's why we may get a second player out of them for relatively cheap, as they want draft picks desperately to build up those points.

Their first round picks (of 2015 and 2016), and our first and second round picks (and/or Witts) might start to get close to what they need.

They are no chance. Why would anyone go there knowing its 3 to 5 years of not much, especially when they have already had 3 to 5 years of not much at GWS. The only way they could do a deal would be if GWS let him go into the PSD and that will not happen as we will offer as close to fair value as we can.

Carlton supporters still seem to think they are a power player, they are a nothing, an old skid mark on the toilet bowl.

Maybe he'd consider Carlton because he was a die hard Carlton supporter before he was drafted and has a relationship with SOS already, but I doubt we could offer him the $$$ that he's been guaranteed by Collingwood.

Isn't the rumour that Treloar GF has landed a job with one of our sponsors? I don't think that is included in the numbers floating around for him . So on a whole 'our package deal ' easily outbids Carltons.
