Yep. And without 17:1 and a pat on the bum last week there would have been no issue.
Just saying you can't have it both ways. Can't complain about it the lopsided count one week and not the next when it goes your way. It's swings and roundabouts. You didn't lose this week or last because of the umpiring, but if you look at some other stats you might find some other reasons.

Mate, it's about the umpiring. You were better than us. Nobody is arguing that. Try to catch up.

You guys were all over the count last week, how unfair the lopsided count was, I'd expect the same this week with another lopsided count. My point is, the count is irrelevant, the decisions are correct or they're not. It why the reaction last week was over the top. It's unfair to single out an umpire for it too. Don't worry I get frustrated like anyone at the footy with the umps, but I always believe at the end of the day, it evens itself out, you win some you lose some. You guys need to focus on some other areas and not use the umps as an easy excuse, which I think you did last week, when you were well beaten in key areas.

Are you thick or purposely ignorant?

17:1

I'm sorry but if you take the 3rd quarter in isolation from last night (11-1) you could come to similar conclusions.

When you play fast contested footy, and also get first hands on the ball, you get more free kicks. You did and the majority of those frees were there.

Do people here actually believe in a conspiracy theory about an umpire? Really?

Interesting point that some have mentioned though about the free kick count being predictable after the week that was. If dogs lose the free kick count to Melbourne that might have some more legs (although probably indicative of implicit bias and instinctive reactions to the media than outright dodginess - umpires don't live in a vacuum after all).

I came to engage in discussion and have tried to do so respectfully. If I haven't succeeded in that end or you don't want that, my apologies and I'll see myself out.

It's laughable this talk about rivalry between Adelaide and Bulldogs. I for one couldn't give a toss about the dogs, it was the umpiring I was unhappy about. You now have a dickhead like Beveridge who has previously bagged the umpires in a public domain on the minson report last year, saying by Pyke saying he wants clarification it was disgusting to put in the public domain.

Him and the bulldogs want headlines as their broke arse club with no supporters wants to get in the media, as no one gives a toss about footascray!

A bunch of Crows supporters trying to use one umpire to hide behind a heap of deficiencies with the Crows last week...

Ok cool. Let's let another woeful umpire performance get swept under the carpet because the AFL are too cheap to fund proper full time umpires and to weak to deal with the "look at me" showmen umpires.

Our performance and Pannell are mutually exclusive. Even if we were Richmond/Carlton levels of dogshit poor, I'd still expect GOOD umpiring.

You've taken your last two losses very hard haven't you? See if you can stay on track with your arguments without resorting to abuse.

Cutting comeback....what are you...12?

Just because I've said it how it is the fact that your club relies upon the equalisation fund that we need to contribute to, and the fact you can't pull a crowd, you get all defensive. Come on blind Freddy can see dickhead Beveridge was fishing for some media coverage after he put an umpiring report into the public domain last year, yet questions something going in the public domain this year.

If he wants rivalry he won't get it from cheap shots in the media, just makes him look like a dickhead

Do the Bulldogs supporters posting in this thread really not get it? Let me break it down into tiny chunks so you might understand.

1) Almost all of us realise you were the better side last week.
2) We weren't complaining because the umpire cost us the game, we were complaining because the count was indefensibly one-sided. It is possible to recognise this without claiming we were robbed.
3) The free kick count last night was nearly as bad and equally as indefensible. Some of the decisions were outright baffling.
4) Obviously we're not complaining because it favoured us and we've got bigger things to complain about like 90% of our team being out of form.
5) Very few of us will be sauntering over to the Geelong board to try and pretend the free kick count was reasonable like dickheads.

The umpiring last night was horrendous. Possibly even worse than the Bulldogs game. Geelong fans would have been furious if it cost them the game

But will there be another 77 page thread here to express your outrage again?

You know the answer to this. But on the strong possibility that you're incompetent, I'll explain it for you:

Adelaide was angry because we got reamed in the umpiring AND lost the game
Geelong got reamed and WON the game.

There's a huge difference here. Would we have been as angry if we got reamed and won? No. Would we be as angry if another team gets reamed? No.

Now **** off

Geelong should absolutely ask some questions unfortunately if the result goes your way asking questions about incompetent umpires is taboo.

Umpires should be held to the same standard no matter the result
Did anyone notice if all 3 umpires poor last night? It's concerning that the media attention influences the calls!

this thread was already embarrassing last week....

Fact:

1. The umpiring standard is terrible
2. The umpiring of our game last week was terrible
3. The 'review' of the game where supposedly only 1 or 2 decisions were wrong was laughable to those who actually watched the game and the frees highlighted in the 'whistle blowers' segment conveniently left out all the beauties that were obvious.
4. If you can't recognise that the AFL constantly try and win the PR battle to protect their brand then you're incredibly naieve. The AFL needed to nullify the issue and claiming the umpiring was ok was the only way to do that. Admitting fault was never going to happen as it would've opened up a Pandora's box that would've been very difficult for them and would set a precedent where clubs would start questioning every shit decision the umpires made.
