Roast Troy Pannell

You can bet the AFL will be watching him this week. They won't want a repeat of the massive scrutiny the umpires department were put under.

That said I honestly can't believe he gets one of our games again this soon. I reckon he will go out of his way to make sure we get a good run and people won't talk about him again.

If we are anywhere near 17-1 this week I'm sure we won't need to make any noise.

Ha this weekend he's really going to have to think about the frees he's giving.

It'll be interesting to see how he goes.

Some people, when their bias is exposed, will go out of their way to show it's not true, and will call it focus hard to ensure he calls right down the middle, or even goes in our favour. Other people will double down on their bullshit and go twice as hard.

I have no idea what to expect from him this weekend.

If he doubles down it will be 34--0.

Pannell would know any repeat of 17:1 will kill off his career.

Reckon the Afl are wanting to show in another away game that he can be fair... Before he is scheduled for an Adelaide oval game.

What will be interesting is if or when he umpires another bullies game as it is them not us that led to 17:1.

This is the issue for me. Not too worried that he's umpiring our game this week, it's umping the Bullies that is the problem. We were just caught on the end of it, it wasn't a bias AGAINST us, but it hasn't mattered who is playing, he gives the opposition a rogering when he calls Bulldogs games.

Like Stevic was ok last week, but against the hawks, it's a different matter!

The AFL are so predictable. We get screwed by the umps and the AFL and the umps say 'nothing to see here', so as to avert a crisis and set a precedent for other teams to call them out. Days after however they decide to trial 4 umpires as Roo announced on MMM. But there's nothing wrong with the umpiring it's just a coincidence that they've decided to trial 4 umpires right after the farcical umpiring of our game against the Bulldogs. But just to make it clear there was nothing wrong with the umpiring this is purely a coincidence. They're so useless and predictable.

Typical
Would rather have him umpiring us in a game where we need frees evened up !:D

You do realise that the decision to trial a 4th umpire had nothing to do with the Bulldogs/Pannell game? They would have been working on it behind the scenes months before they made any public announcements.

Any proof of that?

ROFL - there's been completely baseless and defamatory claims made about Pannell right throughout this thread, yet when one poster makes a completely rational and logical comment about how the umpiring department plans to implement a 4th umpire and the calls for 'any proof of that?'

Rational and logic has no place in an AFL discussion.

They have been talking about a 4th umpire for years. One game is hardly going to be a tipping point for the introduction. The umpiring has just been so bad as a whole that many people are drawing the conclusion between performance and the 4th umpire.
