Ah. Convenience mainly, assuming battery-powered mowers aren’t complete trash. I just can’t be arsed with the mess/maintenance of a petrol mower. We had one growing up and it was an ordeal just to get the bastard started. I’m sure petrol is more powerful and what not but I only have about 250 sqm of “grass” so I don’t need unlimited power/range on this thing. I just need enough to do a 20 minute job.

Get a push mower. For a small area they work fine.

Anyone know a good mob for ducted A/C quotes?

No. I can only advise to not use the one who did my house for a decent price and non stop issues.

Anyone have a battery-powered lawnmower? Are they any good? I need to buy something soon or my house will be reclaimed by the Earth.

No but if you get one that's decent let me know please

My petrol one had the fuel line leak and the wheel fell off at the exact same moment which killed a hoop sized portion of my lawn 2 years ago so I've been paying someone to do mine

Fair enough! With your comment about being reclaimed by the earth I assumed a you had a jungle to mow down.

It’s getting there, just trying to get on top before it’s too late.

Not a fan personally, I’ve used them before and they always seem to get jammed. Maybe I just let it grow too long.

I have a push mower... works great until I'm lazy and the grass gets to long.... then a 10min job turns into an hour job...
Once my kikuyu lawn got too thick that was it for the push mower. It's still sitting in the garden shed providing habitat for redbacks though.

Are rechargable powered things really more convenient? I've been trying to fix the rivets on the shed for a month now, everytime I try to do it the battery on the drill goes flat. That's it for that job, get half a dozen done then needs a half dozen hours charge. Just like the ****ing playstation controls, always going flat an inopportune times. Give me the Xbox and their battery controls all day, they go flat swap a new pair straight in.

I have a battery powered ryobi. It uses an 18v battery that interchanges with lots of other stuff, including the drill. It's the bog standard Bunnings range that's good enough for the likes of me who likes to feign handyman competence.

The lawnmower is just ok. I should have got something more gutsy for my lawn as I have to mow on the highest setting and it still jams a few times each mow. I'd had a gutfull of the two stroke mower which is why I went with the battery one.

I'd still go with a battery mower, just get something with more guts. No problems with rechargeable battery. I'm pretty good at keeping it recharged as I like spending my weekends wandering around the house and yard with the drill in my hand looking for things to fix. It satisfies my need to feel manly and useful.

Electric is fine for things you won't use much, I've got an electric whippa snipper and it's no issues

Do have a Victa mower though that's brilliant, it's mulch feature is great in summer really protects the freshly cut lawn from summer heat
