Is anyone else finding the police back slapping & politician praising stuff re Cleo Smith a tad much? as far as I'm concerned they just did their job, get on with it hopefully you find the next missing person sooner than 18 days in &/or before they are murdered.

So yeh, kind of a public service announcement for in particular all the fellas out there that love to ignore any signs and symptoms and hate going to the docs, get your stuff checked out.

Just got the diagnosis of colon cancer this week, and only caught it now due to having one weird bout of stomach and constipation pain which was unusual. So went and had a blood and bowel screening test and was positive for blood and was majorly anaemic. Which I wasn't 2 years ago at last blood test.
Straight in for colonoscopy and endoscopy and found large cancer in colon. No other symptoms. Only ( and I say only but relatively young for this) at 47. No family history. As surgeon said, you are a mutant basically.

So anyway, no spread yet seen elsewhere on CT, so some good news, but could have easily just taken some metamucil and ignored it.

Get checked lads and ladettes.

I echo those sentiments.

I had a colonoscopy yesterday but unlike yours mine was all clear. People under 50 can make light of this thread but the subject is deadly serious. Last month I had two positive bowel screen tests and was fearing the worst but thankfully there are no problems. I have been using the bowel screen for years with no signs of problems then suddenly both samples are positive.

If you are aged between 50 and 74 you will get a free bowel screen in the post as part of the National Bowel Cancer Screening Program. If you are smart you will use it.

Good luck mate, I hope you get through it.

Since my diagnosis been on a Colon Cancer FB group. The number of Colon Cancer patients under 50 (and under 40) is crazy. The screening kit is good I guess, but at 50, it could be too late if you ignore the signs.

Good to hear you are all clear. Is a pretty stressful time when you don't know what it is going to be. I am about 6 weeks post chemo now, back playing sport and at the gym. Regular check ups are my future, but fingers crossed no nasty little buggers still swirling around in my system.

Surely you’d be chatting to him much earlier than three weeks after she was taken.

And then there was the story of the woman who saw him buying nappies who admitted to thinking 'oh that's strange given he doesn't have kids' but somehow couldn't put 2 and 2 together. The town has a population of 5000 ffs.
