You couldn't write this stuff. Fed (Labor) Govt gives everyone $300 a year towards power bills. AGL has just advised power prices are rising by 12% in the ACT, or in my case, about $300 a year, from July.
The irony here is that AGL is blaming three-quarters of the increase on ACT (Labor) Govt charges.

My guess is the Feds we're planning to contribute money to the states so they can upgrade local renewable power projects, but did it via voters so they can claim the moral high ground re "reducing" the cost of living. Quite ingenious really.
