For Karmela, it's "just the vibes". Israel has every right to "defend itself" (ie commit genocide), but don't make it too obvious. Otherwise, she might have to deal with millions of pesky anti-genocide protesters. From Al Jazeera:

Harris is ahead in most of the polls now and in the betting markets as well.Interesting times.I wonder how will Donald and his minions cope with another election loss?Just deny it happened, and scream stop the steal,I suppose.
How will he deal with it? The answer is obvious. He will attempt another coup, and having learned the lessons from his previous effort, might well succeed.

Blah, blah, blah.
And didn’t answer the direct question.
You stated that Harris must support genocide by shaking Netanyahu’s hand.
I simply asked your opinion of Trumps support of two of the most murdering leaders in the world.
And you responded with blah, blah, blah.
I didn't realise you had such a binary way of thinking. I apologise.
What do I think about Trump shaking the hand of Putin and Kim Jung?
I think that Trump is political criminal who agrees with mass murder
What do I think about Karmela Harris shaking Netahayu's hand and supporting US funding for Israel's war machine?
I think that Harris is a political criminal who agrees with mass murder.
I hope this is not too confusing.

I'm not sure if it gets more binary than Socialist or Fascist...

I think you have made your position on Harris and Israel quite clear.

Further if posting extracts from article it would be useful if you provide your source.

Perhaps discuss something else from now on as it is becoming repetitive. Alternatively try the SRP forum.

Mags.

I understand the desire to avoid turning this into a proxy Gaza thread, but the difference between Harris/Walz and the current administration is the biggest question surrounding her candidacy.

Within that, whether Harris can persuade uncommitted Democrats will largely turn on her approach to the matter of Israel.

I'm not sure there can be a Harris thread at the moment without allowing the issue some airtime.

Not convinced it is the biggest question. Doesn't even appear amongst the biggest.

She will certainly lose votes because of it however I think both parties have taken that into account.

Some airtime sure but it seems that is the only area the poster seems to want to discuss.

Among uncommitted Democrats, the people who have been peeling away from the Biden administration (e.g. younger voters), the issue is fundamental.

The question of whether Harris can get those people to vote in November is critical.

Edit: The issue is more important in relation to a small handful of States...which might be important.

PS: I'm definitely not advocating a free-ranging discussion on America's support of Israel. Gets boring.

More fun and games from Trump world. Surely can't be true.;)

The report that his plane couldn't land at airport due to mechanical problems is false.

The truth was that the Bozeman International Airport wouldn't allow the landing because the campaign still has an outstanding bill ($12K) owed to them from 2018.

Cheapskate and a conman.

I look at Trump and see a repulsive charlatan of orange complexion.

He lacks statesmanship and is devoid of sophistication.

As soon as he opens his mouth he removes all doubt of the above, yet people still vote for him.

Then again, people voted for Mark Latham.

He is a loathsome, offensive brute. Yet I can't look away

Some feel the need to smell a bad fart, even if they've been warned. They want to experience for themselves how offensive the odour is.

Trumpy is like a very bad fart; the kind that only a super-generous serving of baked beans can deliver.

Kamala Harris advertising that she will be tougher on border control than Trump. This is from one of her current campaign advertisements. The text is the voiceover:

cap1.JPG

Karmela Harris is striving to outflank Trump from the right on the question of border security.

This is in spite of the fact that Trump has repeatedly referred in his speeches to "vermin streaming across our border and poisoning the blood of our nation", and has pledged, with the help of the US military, to carry out mass deportations of up to 20 million people.

Harris does not call out Trump for this openly fascist language, and his outright threat of the mass deportation of immigrants - which could only be carried out under police state rule.

Instead at a recent campaign speech at Las Vegas, she declared:
“Donald Trump doesn’t want to fix this problem… he talks a big game about border security, but he does not walk the walk.”
"We will address the issue of immigration. We know our immigration system is broken. And we know what it takes to fix it, comprehensive reform that includes, yes strong border security and an earned pathway to citizenship."

In other words, her critique of trump is from the right: she is accusing him of being too soft on immigrants and asylum seekers, while repeating his xenophobic lies that impoverished asylum seekers from Latin America are responsible for the drug crisis in the US.

Newsflash: you don't stop a right wing demagogue by trying to prove that you are more right wing than him.

It is no secret how I feel about Trump. Have felt like this ever since 2015.

Most of my relatives and friends in the USA also feel like this but one has well and truly gone down the rabbit hole and doesn't speak to any of us anymore.:)

Whilst it is not often, whenever I hear someone espousing socialist or communist ideas I feel like I am watching the end of Ferris Bueller ,

"It's over. Go home".

Very apt. He said "nothing was over". And then he gave up.

Strategic surrender, a-hole.

Live to fight another day.

Unlike your hero in the movie, that bloated bastard who ends up painting river rocks with his blood.

You remind me of a young David Caruso.

Of course I want to be John Rambo, and I thought my incoherence would win me the nod.

But I'll take the Caruso character. He was a smart kid who knew they what they were dealing with.

Whiny, but smart.

That Deputy was Stallone's nod to homoeroticism, which he includes in nearly all of his films. Good fit.

I'd happily accept that, but we all know that Sly would never use a ranga to evoke the erotic.
