Watching the Dutch detective series Van Der Valk on YouTube. 1972. Amsterdam was so different then. Love the series.

Grew up in the '50's with little Dutch boys with our hair shaved like the US Marines.

Happy days.

Anyone else feel GOT jumped the dragon with this weeks episode?

I believe it's fair to say that the writers no longer having the rich source material to draw upon the depth and quality of story telling has gotten weaker these past couple of seasons and it's what made GOT once so very great.

Don't get me wrong I still enjoy it but this whole season has felt rushed and forced with timelines and character decisions not true to the world and it's inhabitants we have come to know and merely convenient (and often nonsensical) ways for the writers to get to the place they ultimately want.

What I am finding funny is previously it would take characters weeks or months to travel from one part of the 7 Kingdoms to the other, now they just pop over at their leisure.
Tyrion just pops over to Kings Landing to have a chat with his brother.
The hound gets to the wall in a blink of an eye.
Daeneras quickly flys north to save Jon after spending the first 6 seasons trying to find ships to cross the narrow sea. Why didn't you just fly your army over 20 or 30 at a time if you can cover distances so quickly.
Etc etc
The depth to the story line has definitely been lost this season.
I'm still enjoying it but some of the quality has been lost.

I've watched the first episode and I think it's done enough to keep me interested. Heard it gets better and better.
Yeah like I said I am probably int the minority on this one. I enjoyed the few episodes I watched but they didn't leave me hanging out to see what happens next.
American Gods or GOT on the other hand do exactly that.

Narcos season 3.

Terrific, focus on the Cali cartel.

Pablo Escobar- lord of evil (roughly translated from the spanish)
70 episodes or so.
Brilliant series based on Pablo Escobar.
It's in the correct accent for Escobar. Narcos had a Brazilian accent by the actor who was mesmeric. Brilliant both series.

Handmaids tale.

Anything with Elisabeth Moss is good

I'm enjoying this show, as much as one can enjoy a totalitarian dystopia. They manage to throw in moments of levity here and there, which makes it less oppressive. Elizabeth Moss is very good, an expressive face.

Excellent summation.

Very depressing the nation they show.

I surprised there is no love for Black Mirror (season 3 on Netflix). If only TV could be consistently so riveting and entertaining as this show.

It presents a world that is an extension of our reality. Of relevance here is the final in the series 'Hated in the Nation', which reflects upon the impact of social forums replete with keyboard warriors, shooting down in flames those who dare to rise above or beyond the ordinariness and mediocrity of everyday life.

Look how we make scapegoats or whipping boys out of players on here. Do we ever stop to seriously consider the impact of our words?

Every episode explores an aspect of the dark side to modern life. It's confronting rather than escapist.

Yeah, I started watching it after another poster mentioned it in here.
It's the twilight zone gone digital.
