Hmm, not on the roster. Might come in as an intruder?

Think James was a bit tongue in cheek there given Jolly is on The Block on nine.
Just run through the collingwood retirees over the last few years and cross match a name. Should get you there. And of course it would be entirely a conincidence that their chairman is a high ranking Nine official....

Rewatching Deadwood at the moment. The missus hadn't seen it before so it was a good excuse. Still disappointed that HBO never got around to the TV movies to finish it off.

I just watched this recently for the first time after missing it when it came out. Great show.

After Flying Circus and the classic Simpsons episodes, Arrested Development is the greatest comedy of all time. Closely followed by Seinfeld.

Arrested Development is gold. Another show I never really watched while it was current. I assumed it was just another paint by the numbers American sitcom. Then I tried it 12-18 months ago and loved it. Few tv shows can have me in stitches. Season 4 just wasn't the same though.

FOLLOWED by Seinfeld?

That's like saying Hendrix is the greatest guitarist of all time and Robert Johnson is a close second!

I gotta say, I really found Arrested Development extremely forced and most of the gags were telegraphed ... I feel bummed that I can't get into it like most folks I know as they all rave about it.

EDIT: my analogy above is a little off - I love Hendrix ... but he only existed because of RJ.

Seinfeld just falls behind because it doesn't have as good a story.

Seinfeld was quality no doubt but it has a formulaic feel about it. Also my love for it got diluted over time due to the over saturation of it by channel 10. Simpsons likewise. I actually never feel like watching either of these shows if I had the choice now days. In saying that if someone else flicked it on I'd watch it and probably thoroughly enjoy.

Have been on a past series kick recently. Watched both series of Better Off Ted which was an under-appreciated comedy from a few years back. Also polished off Band of Brothers which I'd have to rate in my top 5 shows of all time. Going through old Flying Circus (coincidentally as it was mentioned above) and A Bit of Fry & Laurie ATM.

One of the best first episodes of any sketch show ever made.

And then very hit and miss.

Totally agree on Better off Ted. Lots of good things about that show. I think it's weakness though is that the Ted character was pretty uninteresting, and the comedy was really carried by some of the side characters. Portia De Rossi's character, in particular.

I'm watching Bastard Squad, but only in a passive kind of way. Mrs. 3KZ is Football records CSI Everywhere, NCIS, Law and Order SVU and Criminal Minds and then has evenings when she randomly strings together 2 - 3 episodes of one or the other in no apparent order. The effect is that they all meld into one sprawling show that fuses plot lines and promotes the following largely offensive or dangerous stereotypes:

- Most men are somewhere on the spectrum from opportunistically sleazy to sexually predatory serial killers.
- Muslim men are terrorists.
- Women who are sexually active are most likely going to be murdered.
- Police Vigilantism is to be expected and tolerated because the Courts unfairly require the State to PROVE people are guilty beyond reasonable doubt.
- The world would be better if the Police could bypass the Court system entirely and act as judge and executioner.
- Only beautiful women are employed as Police officers or forensic scientists.
- Forensic laboratories operate better in semi-darkness.
- American citizens are living in a constant state of danger, beset by the threat of murder, rape, torture or all of the aforementioned.

On the whole I wouldn't recommend Bastard Squad to anyone, because it is a puerile show that is aimed at fairly dumb people, but don't tell Mrs. 3KZ is Football I said that, because she would kill me.

Silicon Valley. What Big Bang Theory should have been.

Have just started on House Of Cards with True Detective in the back pocket.

3rd & last series of The Newsroom should be airing soon too.
Silicon Valley is quite a good show. Can't wait for season 2!

Person of Interest is a fantastic show. Season 4 coming out in two weeks. I really a good show that I recommend.
It took a while, but it went from being an entertaining concept to something else entirely.
Turned out to be quite prescient in the light of recent revelations. Weird that a tv show can suddenly go from being out there sci-fi to a not so unrealistic what if scenario in no time at all.

Shaw and Root are also awesome.

An underrated TV show I might get the DVDs for is Third Rock from the Sun. Actually it was probably not underrated given John Lithgow won an emmy IIRC.

Just started watching season 4 of Arrested Development this morning. The first 3 seasons were effortless in many ways, the fourth season so far seems forced. Didn't laugh once in the first episode, the other seasons I was laughing most of the time. Was even better watching the episodes twice and getting the jokes within the jokes you missed the first time.

There are more jokes within jokes in season 4. It gains momentum after the first 3-4 episodes.
