41 is actually a good cut off point. I'm 40 and the last time I was single tinder wasn't a thing. Alcohol does help introverted people socialise though
agree, while not an introvert a few jars absolutely helped my ability to socialise with the fairer sex

nowdays it just dulls the pounding and stress caused by the damn kids

you... introvert...

yeah...

nah. :p:p:p:p

The information is limited but I stand by by judgement. Leaders shouldn't snooker themselves like this regardless of nuance.

Your position is logically untenable. You can’t admit that information is limited but then pretend you’re able to discern what info is nuance or substantive. You, along with everyone else on this forum, are in no position to know.

What you describe as nuance is actually context, and literally nothing can be understood without context. Zero... which incidentally is exactly what your opinion is worth in this instance.

To defend a position you’ve taken on the admitted basis of info you know you don’t have is nonsensical.

Again, the correct answer is; ‘we don’t know’.

Tyson has also put a target on his back should he make similar bad choices in the future. People will now be watching him even closer whenever he's out in the short term.

Not sure suspending him is the answer, as the negative press, as well as what I would imagine was pretty intense internal questioning from the club would already have him feeling pretty low. He comes across as a pretty shy guy, so this type of spotlight won't sit comfortably with him I suspect and suspending him only adds to the disappointment I suspect he's already feeling.

History doesn't remember nuance and your actions are judged by history. The details will be forgotten by the time the next incident happens and so the details don't matter, but your response will be remembered so your response matters.

The club is free to set their own standards and they are highly credentialed leaders. I am free to state my opinion that they are making an error.

Whatever their next action is cannot be walked back later

Yeah I'm an introvert too and have been known to have a couple for dutch courage (racist?) in my early days.
Whilst (!) I understand that TS is likely very shy he also has a duty to his fans, club and donors.
Having said that the old saying is something like the pen...is mightier than the horde or sword or something

This is my position really, how can we be judge, jury and executioner without all of the details or the expertise. It's one thing to do it with the harmless things we are on here to discuss (team selection, game plan) but a different kettle of fish when it comes to handling delicate situations like this. The trust has to be in the club and Tyson to do the right thing in response to this. I trust that they will. If the trust is broken in the fallout, well we can respond to that then. But we will likely be similarly uninformed on the details.

It's a brand of beer! It's courageous to drink 6 cans for seven euros and fifty eurocents!

VERDICT: Not racist.

It became public knowledge very early.
Until any definitive statements of fact come out, discussions here and everywhere continue.
We are not being anything except speculative because this is a rare, newsworthy and unwanted occurrence.

He is selected to play, so we hope to assume there were no ill-effects after the event

I repeat: "How can we be judge, jury and executioner without all of the details or the expertise?"

As far as the bolded, speak for yourself. Plenty have been beyond speculative in this thread, going as far as recommended punishments. Discussion is fine, but let's not pretend we know the best course of action for the club and for Tyson.

If Tyson plays (and we won't know until the game), then we can rule out drugs, IMHO. We know that the club Doctors can do drug tests in their rooms and will make a player unavailable if the test is positive so that the player avoids an ASADA/WADA drug test and thus gets in official trouble.

Whilst i am not 25 not single... i strongly would suggest that isn't the case in this day and age.
From what I understand more people meet on apps/online and have almost lost the ability to meet people out.

I could be way off the mark and be a real old man yelling at the cloud type of a thing as a 41 year old who hasn't been single for 15 years though hahaha
Meanwhile I’m 42 and have been single for 15 years

Polar opposite lol

Scott on Stengle:

“I don’t think they need to be reminded that this is a competition and that if you don’t perform or if there is a pattern of behaviour, long-term there will be consequences but to allay it to this situation with Tyson would be unfair.

“I do kind of subscribe to the idea that players out late, it becomes a bit of a risky environment. I become a bit concerned when it happens, but we are not going to put rules in place or curfews and have things fly in the face with what we are trying to build where we give our players room to think.

“They (Geelong’s medical staff) are supremely confident that he is in good shape. He certainly trained well, moved well and seems well enough in himself and excited to go and play well, which is what we expect.”

Which surely also rules out drink spiking...

Not sure anything can be ruled out regardless of Tyson playing tomorrow or not

Players get tested both in & out of competition, and if there's drugs in Tyson's system it won't be from anything that happened last Saturday

Stengle hasn’t assaulted anyone, he hasn’t verbally abused anyone, he hasn’t committed a driving offence, he hasn’t taken drugs and he hasn’t stolen anything. To me it is not a big deal. If it is repeated in the future, then that would deserve further comment but for now, move on. .

Jeez he will cop it on the field.
